Okay, for my Cave Kitties ( This is prolly going to be their new name ) I would like a bone tatoo on them. I made one in paint and was wondering how you make it usable on your breed. Here is the bone: Or maybe someone knows of a bone tatoo that is already made or knows how to make tatoos? All help will be nice! When I get this breed done I'm going to have a list of people's names to put on my site to show that they all helped me to make it!

I recently did one of these for...*Darn-I forget who...* Belloo, I think... She wanted a star on the hip. What I did was take screen captures of the petz colour chart first, that way I could use the colours straight from it and be sure they showed up correctly... Then, I chose a white from it for the background, so that I could set the transparency right, and selected New from the File menu, size 70x70. I decreased to colour to 8bit colour because anything higher will cause your game to crash. I flooded using the paint pot tool, so that it had an all white background. Next I put a black star on it. Now, when I just had one star, it had a habit of moving around the ball so that you couldn't see it, so I put a few stars on it: Remember to save it as a .bmp. And put it in a folder off of your main Petz folder. Then you need to direct your breedfile to it, so: \ptzfiles\cat\ta\sttat1.bmp 15 ;Custom Tattoo means that the sttat.bmp is in a folder called 'ta', which is in a folder called 'cat', which is in a folder called 'ptzfiles', which is in the same place as the Petz.exe. Also, it's transparency is 15, and there is a ;comment to let me know that it's a tattoo. Then, put it in your texture list, with the transparency set to whichever white you used, and make a note of it's number in the list (say if it was the last one of five textures, it's number would be 4 because the first if 0). Find the ball you want to put it on, under Ballz info, and change that ballz texture to your tattoo's texture number (so 4, if you're following from the above example). Save up, and take one out of the adoption centre...It should have your tattoo on it

Okay, Vicko...I've had a fiddle and noticed a few things that would stop your tattoo from showing up, and showing up correctly... The Problems: - Your original .bmp was set to 4 bit color rather than 8 bit, so the game wouldn'tsee it anyway.
- The transparency was set incorrectly. It was set to 15 when there was no 15 in the tattoo. Also there were two figures for the transparency (15 then 0) which confused the game.
- Not enough repetition. Like I said above, I need to put a few stars on the .bmp to stop them disappearing around the ball.
- Also, I think the actual cat image you had was too big, which stopped it showing up properly. You could only see the cats ears for instance...
So, what I did, was correct all the above, so that it now looks like this: Now, the real problem is this. All this while I've been using externals in Petz 4...in Petz 5, I couldn't get it too work at all. It simply crashed my game, whether I tried it with the .lnz external or internal. I tried giving the tattoo it's own directory. {update]: I managed to internalise the Petz 4 version...Working methodically on the Petz 5 now... [Update Number 2]: Nope, there is definately a problem with the tattoo for Petz 5. My dane breedfile worked fine right up until I changed the texture to the tattoo... I'm working on finding the problem now. [Update Number 3]: Strange as it may seem, but this works: I'm not sure what the problem was to be honest, but, yeah...If you'd like the Petz5 Great Dane.dog which is fixed up to view your tat, along with the fixed tat, just leave you email, Vicko... *Phew* *Dashes off to find cleanser to scrape off all the bad words she has been spitting at her monitor all morning!*
