Okay. I've downloaded just about every hex editor I can find, and looked at heaps of tutorials, but I cannot find a single one that focuses on Catz, or how to hex a Pet. They're just about breeds, but I don't want to make a breed. I want to make a pretty hexie pet, but I just have no idea how to do it.
Could someone please please direct me to a great tutorial? I can't find a single one that focuses on Catz or making hexed petz... and they're all so confusing.
Anyone? I'd be so grateful...

Hmm. Usually when you want to hex a pet for yourself, you start out hexing the breedfile and just adopt a cat from it. I've got to go tonight, but I'll try to see if I can help tomorrow.

Hexing a breed is a good start, since you don't have to use a hex editor and don't have to worry about a checksum. Make a breed, adopt a pet, now you have a hexed pet.

It's so much easier to just hex a breed then adopt a petz from that breed than all the adding and subtracting you have to do while hexing a pet for the checksum.

I have no idea how to hex Petz, but only breedz, and I know from experiance it is way easier to hex a breed. I use Pet Workshop, by the way.

Okay. .pet files looked a lot harder, lol.
So far the best program so far I think is LNZ pro, it's really handy. I use Pet Workshop a bit but I don't know if it's possible to do stuff like bullzeyes and textures and stuff like that.
I want to put a bullzeye on a kitty, or a skunk stripe... but I can't find any tutorials for that...
And also, how do you change the BM number? (I think that's what it is)... The tutorials I've read don't explain very well.

www.juta.justblank.net/spots.htmJust Taboo's copy pasties should have some stuff that you're looking for. Just make sure you snag the catz stuff and not the dogz lol I made that mistake once... mkandc.thepetzwarehouse.com/MK&C seems to be down right now, but if you don't have the catz hexer, then you might want to pick it up when it's available. Or I could send it to you, just tell me. It's where you can check certain body parts and change colors and fuzz easy. You only need to change the BM number if you're making a breed. Hmm, I'm not sure where to find a tutorial for this. I could send a copy of one through email. Just tell me if you need it. Woo hexing. Crazy stuff. XD

I suggest reshacker...its SO much easer...
I'm going to EVENTUALLY release a set of Leppie spots built on the Dali spot numberset.
*has to finish it and test it first*

I agree with Soul. ResHack is very easy to use. supernova.lokatt.se/Supernova has a very VERY nice tutorial on using it, and a link to download it. Just click hexing and ResHack Hexing Tutorial. Uhhm. I'm going to stop posting so much now.

Thanks guys. This really helps I think my main problem is changing the BM number. I managed to hex a really pretty version of the Desert Lynx though. *grin*

You can hex petz directly -- I have tons of tutorials on my site about that. But as of today we also have a terrific new version of LNZ Pro, by the wonderful Nicholas, which makes petfile editing easy. Enjoy. Carolyn
