Is it possibly to change the personality of a pet through the .pet file? I'm trying to breed the perfect cat I'm after, and I just can't get it to take on a Chinchilla Persian personality... all I get is alley. is there any way to remedy this through hexing, or is that a no-go?

What if you put a base-swapped breed in for the personality it has right now? Like put in a chinchilla personality alley cat? (Not that I'm an expert or anything)

It'd make all my alley cats behave like chinchillas apparantly... and I just want one of them too. ehh.

It wouldn't change an already adopted pet, thought, and Flamingice asked for information regarding .pet files in particular. The base swapped thing could be an option for future petz though, I guess. [Edit]: (I double posted ) It's very tricky, Flamingice. I have tried, but not succeeded. Yet. I will one day! I said the same about renaming breedz with longer/shorter names. Just couldn't make it work, then six months down the line, and I tried it. Presto Workies! Carolyn has a tutorial on it here: carolyn.thepetzwarehouse.com/downloadx/tutorials/ChangingBreenameInPetfile.zipGood luck, and let me know if you manage it!!

Whatever main breed is in the pet file takes the personality of the associated breed, so if the breed has a different personality, all petz of that breed will have it too. For instance, I've had some catz with the alley personality, then changed the alley breed for a base-swapped one, and all my existing alleys no longer had the alley personality.
