Hello everyone!
I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved with maintaining, creating, updating, and expanding this community. My introduction to Petz was with a used copy of the original Dogz from a flea market (I still love that original screensaver where your dogz would guard your computer under a full moon and randomly bark angrily at people). I was hooked and spent my childhood collecting the hexed artwork of the community. I tried my hand at hexing as a kid and accidentally moved an eyeball to the tail, and even though I undid whatever I did (or tried to) the file never went back to normal. After that, I was kind of creeped out of hexing myself as I didn't want to break my favorite game. I have watched many talented hexers go dark over the years only for some of their work to be lost forever. I've also watched wild animals get more and more realistic which has been a joy! I could've sworn there was a Wildz registry that I followed (WKC I think) but I can't find it anywhere. As a kid, my favorite animal was the African Wild Dog and to watch them evolve through hexing has been a blast. Most people offline don't even know what an African Wild Dog is but I'm so glad the Petz community does! I'm always happy see people's AWDz so please feel free to share. As an adult, I find myself enjoying big cats and dragons more; specifically snow leopards. So I'm on the hunt for the most realistic snow leopard. Since hexing information is more simplified than it was when I was a kid, I might even try hexing again myself. Maybe I'll get it right this time.
Anyway, I gave this long intro because I'm actually pretty quiet. I'm a lurker and I generally keep to myself.
I wanted to give a special shoutout to Daveena because your wildz are amazing and hoping to get the chance to raise them lured me back into playing the game after all this time as it feels like, even in 2023, Petz is still the only pet simulator that really allows you to RAISE these creatures from babies. You are a hexing god.
A special shoutout to any and everyone who's ever made an AWD. Thank you for actually knowing what they are and adding to the history. Know that I'm a fan of yours and watching you.
A special shoutout to Moonflower. I've never owned dragon in Petz before because I didn't think they could be made realistically enough, but you freaking did it! You are also a hexing god! Yours will be the first I've ever raised and I'm so excited! I plan to post lots of pics and generally geek TF out! Thank you and thank you Arie.
I've cherished and protected every pet and breed file I've ever gotten because I was afraid that one day this game and its community would die. Thanks in advance to everyone participating in keeping it alive, expanding it, and helping me to grow my collection, relive the magic of caring for virtual creatures, and maybe finally learning to hex for myself. You're ALL AWESOME!
