So let me start with a silly little backstory...
I had never really seen of, or thought much about these animals before a few years ago. We had been leaving food out for the local feral cats, who came to eat every night. And it would only be a matter of time before more visitors came along. One night, I'd gone out to refill the food bowl, and saw a small, dark silhouette of an animal on my neighbor's shed. I walked over to it, and started softly talking to it.
"Hey, kitty! What are you doing up there? I just put some food down, if you want to come and eat. It's okay, you don't need to be scared..." and it turned its' head slightly. Allowing me to see the round ears, and long, thin, pointed muzzle. Suddenly I felt anxious, realizing just what I was talking to, and it turned into, "Ohhh you're not a kitty, are you? I'm sorry, I'll go! But you can still come and eat if you want..."
And I started backing up quickly, and headed into the house. I knew nothing about these animals at the time...I didn't know whether they could be vicious, or if I'd just been in danger without realizing it. (And it amuses me to think what IT must have been thinking...this idiotic human just walks right up to a wild animal, chatting it up like they're besties...like what the heck?? LOL)
After that though, my little obsession started.
This creature...this opossum, started coming around more often. It would sit all night at the cat food bowl and eat EVERYTHING. Seriously, it had a bottomless gut. It shouldn't have been able to eat as much as it did. But it was SO CUTE. I think there might have been two...because we were seeing a smaller one (who I dubbed Kitty, after I called her as such thinking she was a cat xD) and then not much time had passed before we were seeing a VERY LARGE one...but that one came around more often, and kind of became Kitty.
I liked bringing out strawberries for her and watching her eat them, and she simply -could not believe- her luck when I did that!! My gosh it was precious! (I have video footage too xD)
Anyway...there came a time when Kitty stopped coming around, and we needed to move shortly after. I guess it worked out for the best. We were there when she needed us, and when she was gone to who knows where, we had to leave too. I haven't seen another opossum since...but I've read up on them and watched so many clips of them, and have a few opossum plushies...they're one of my favorite animals now. ;-;
And since I've especially missed Kitty...I have been -dreaming- of having an opossum hexie for my game someday. When I saw PeachPup had a -beautiful- opossum hex...I wanted it -so badly!!- But I kind of didn't feel like I had anything to offer for something that was SO well hexed, and would mean as much to me as this would. So for a long time I didn't do anything about it, except wish. xD But this month I finally caved, and asked if she'd be interested in a trade...and she said yes!!
So here she is!! Meet Kitty Cat...or Kitty for short!! (I even messaged my sister a picture of her as soon as I got her and said something like "LOOK AT MY NEW KITTY!!" LOL) I LOVE HER SO MUCH. I have no words strong enough, but I'll try anyway. xD She is hexed TO PERFECTION. Every SINGLE detail an opossum could have, she has. The shape is 100% correct, the textures are perfect, the detail in the muzzle, the ears, tail, even the little toes...it's all perfect! SHE EVEN HAS FANGS. They're hard to see...I didn't notice until I zoomed in, and got excited all over again when I found them. xDD
She has a Persian personality, which is SO PERFECT for an opossum, making her quite mellow! She is actually rather un-opossum like in the fact that she HATES most food!! She's so picky, she will eat almost nothing! In fact once, she started eating some 'cream' flavored food and I was like "Oh good, she likes it!" Then she STOPPED eating and turned her nose up at it!! So I don't even KNOW what she likes and doesn't like LOL I played with her for so long the other day that she became quite hungry, yet refused to eat, so we resorted to bottle feeding. I mean hey, that's freaking adorable anyway, so why not??
I also noticed almost right away her funny little 'signature move' that she does. It's hard to explain, and when catching pictures you usually can't tell what she's doing. But she does this thing where she slides her back feet to one side, then turns her body to follow it after. Then shuffles again, her body follows again. And she does this in a full circle if she does it enough times. xDD She keeps doing it and it's so random and funny!
She'll dance, but she mostly prefers to sit close by, shut her eyes, and listen. And she's so cute and teeny as a baby, ahh!! She hasn't really met anyone yet, as I've just been enjoying playing with her and her alone...but I'm eager to introduce her to more Petz!!
Also, featured in the graphic is my new plush toy from lobb ! It's a plush of my real life kitty Rufus!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH. xDD It needs to be in every room. LOL
You'll all be seeing more of Kitty here and there because I can't leave her alone. <3 I tried to not spam pictures of her yet until now, when she could be 'formally introduced' xD But more pictures will likely come...she's already a favorite of mine!! Thank you so much, Peachpup!! She's a dream pet of mine and I'm so insanely happy!!

And, if anyone wanted to see some clips of the real Kitty(s)...
Here's the poor thing accidentally tipping the water bowl, and getting splashed...then wondering what in the world just assaulted her!! She is SO confused and offended, poor thing! x'DDD
The appearance of the first strawberry! It's on the tray in front of her, right in front of the bowl on the right. She's so happy to settle in with that...I love her teeny hands grabbing it from her mouth, and her little tongue as she enjoys it!!
Last one! Enjoying another strawberry! It must be so hard to eat without cheeks in the right place to help hold the food in your mouth!! xD But it was very much enjoyed. (That is a BIG opossum...)
