(Cross-posting between RKC and WW, I'm curious and want to reach as many people as possible. I'm sorry!) I'm wondering about strange behaviours your petz only rarely do or that seem to be unique within your crew. For example, in the Petz Gazette I mentioned that Raffles "plays catch". He'll basically grab a toy and make play bows at the cursor. When I move the cursor, he runs away from it, and if I stop moving, he'll stare and do more play bows. This goes on and one for a while, he seems to want me to chase him around the screen I've had a couple of dogs who seem to voluntarily jump onto ledges.
I also had a cat do something yesterday that I'd never seen before! Some of my catz (rarely) jump onto ledges like the sofa in the toy closet and throw things around or drop them. Yesterday, one of my cats who does this a lot jumped onto the ledge but didn't throw things. Instead, she carefully set them down. If she dropped them and they didn't stay put, she'd jump off, pick them up, and try again. She ended up with a small pile of things, some 10 items before she ran out of space I considered trying to rearrange all the toys to make more room but it was getting late and I had to go. I posted about the whole pile saga in the DG Discord, where amanda confirmed that one of her catz does this too! Anyway, I'd love to hear more about these kinds of unusual behaviours!

Oh yeah, in my experience, the majority of Catz will do that if left alone with toys and a ledge long enough. I made this rather long (even though it's sped up) slightly cringy 'music' video a few years back showing the process. xD I actually had to stop bringing my Catz to rooms with ledges for a while because EVERYONE would do this, and when they finished, they would stand and stare at the toys and be upset BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THEM BACK DOWN. x'DD It made me crazy because they basically put everything out of reach then they'd be bored with nothing to do. Just...leave some toys for yourself to play with, would you, Catz?? xDD I have some Dogz that jump onto ledges a lot more than others too...seems to be something common in Lab personalities! I've told about this before, but I think some of the coolest unique behaviors in Petz are their 'signature moves' as I call them. Some Petz have this weird moment (I can't quite pinpoint when they do it or what triggers it) where they do a random move, and it varies between Petz. For example, my sister has a dog that will randomly do the heel-click trick on its' own between doing other things. This is probably the best video I've caught of a pet doing their signature move. For Lilypie the Raccoon, she has to sit down, shuffle her front legs and lean back a little, sometimes even sitting up at the end. She does this often between certain actions that seem to have no connection to this. I love the variety of different moves Petz can randomly decide to do...each seems to have their own, and they stick with only one. Some other interesting things I've recorded regarding behaviors...(sorry for the choppiness on some of these! I was still learning about which framerate worked best when recording back then!) Apparently Pigz tend to root in the mud. I think they do this inside too though? But they go through a bunch of odd actions that Dogz don't typically do. Growing up, I mostly assumed Pigz are just Dogz with a different look, and Bunnyz are Catz with a different look. I never really paid attention to their actual behaviors...never really noticed they WERE actually different! Seeing random behaviors like this was actually really cool!! Sometimes my Catz 'go bananas' as I called it back then x'DD Again, I don't know what triggers it, it doesn't seem to be a certain personality either, and at one point, ALL MY CATZ KEPT DOING IT. It was funny at first but became a little frustrating too. They just kind of...go into this weird series of deranged looking moves, and they cannot be distracted from this little mental blip for some reason. They don't react to anything around them, (you can see my dog Lucario running him over multiple times, and he just goes right back to it.) and often times picking them up or putting them away only distracts them for a moment before they go back into it. Very weird! Luckily it's a bit less frequent in my game now, but I don't know why everyone was doing it for a period of time!! Aaaand the 'trading' thing. I used to find so many bones replacing toys I'd leave out in the Playpen with my Petz. I didn't know what was happening, until I caught it in the act. My Dogz were TRADING their toys for bones!! If they were left alone long enough, I could catch them doing this. Sneaking off-screen with a toy, and exchanging it for a bone!! I think, again, Labs did this most often, and it was only happening to me in the Playpen. (I can't remember if it happens elsewhere) I think I remember FISH bones appearing for a time too, so I suspect Catz may also be able to do this, but I haven't seen it xD

CatCreature so the catz piling stuff on ledges isn't related to quirkiness? There goes my theory!
I've never seen catz do that "go bananas" thing, I don't think... I'll have to pay more attention to it. Do the pigz root in P4 or only in P5? My p4 pigz never seem to do this but again, maybe they have and I just don't remember!
I've NEVER seen the trading thing! That's honestly very cool. Was that in P4? I'll have to try this one of these days and see if I can get that to happen.
You're spot on about signature moves. I'd never thought of them that way!

It was in the playpen too, with my Gen 1 Mutt Sundae. She picked up a toy and kinda ran behind the carrying case until she disappeared off the screen, but instead of a bone she returned with a stick. This was a while ago now and I haven’t seen it happen again since. I wondered if it was a Mutt thing or something but I guess it can happen with other dogz since you mentioned labs. (I haven’t played with all the breeds yet so some things are still kind of new to me)
