So I've loved Scooby Doo for years now, and have long-since hexed him and played around more with the file to make more from it. But recently I've been making more canon Scooby characters from the series, tweaking some older ones, and whatnot...and now I have quite the group of Scooby Doo related Petz. xDD
I just finished watching all of What's New Scooby Doo, and Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated that were on Netflix...and have learned they're being removed on December 14th. </3 Was kind of hoping to re-watch What's New Scooby Doo, but...oh well. But these have put me in an extremely big Scooby mood as of late, and showed me more characters I wanted to hex. And now that both series are over for me, I feel like I'll probably stop here for a while...and I may as well show you what I ended up with!
These are not all my Scooby Doo Dogz. (You can actually see those in their own category on my crew site!) These are rather as many of the canon characters together in one spot as I could get...with two exceptions, which you'll see more about in a minute.
But here it is! The current team of Mystery Inc in Petz:
Some you may have questions about...which I'll answer below as I show them all off separately! ^^ But here's my crew all together!
And here's some about them all individually...starting with the most familiar of all!
(Remember to drag and drop any image into your address bar for full size, if they appear shrunk!)
---
Where it all began...with Scooby Doo! I hexed Scooby back in 2011 (Holy cow, it's been ten years! This guy is ten years old!) and I mostly referenced all of his details off a plushie of mine, for a more personal, up-close look at him. I didn't hex the collar, (It's from Supernova, I believe) as I usually prefer clothing NOT to be hexed onto a pet. It tends to limit or hinder dressup fun. xD But yes, he is possibly my very favorite out of ALL my hexies! I'm very proud of him, I think he looks very much like Scooby, and he means the world to me. I'm also VERY happy I went with a Sheepdog personality, because the derpy, nervous, floppy, goofy personality fits him so beautifully...even the deep Sheepie bark sounds like him! xD
---
Jumping from the oldest, to one of the newest...Nova! In most series or movies, if Scooby falls in love, it usually doesn't work out. (Although things seemed good in one movie, when his affections were returned by a Chihuahua...who I do hope to hex someday as well!) I always thought it's so sad. Scooby is adorable when he's in love and nobody seemed to like him back...or they'd be aliens or something and it didn't work out. (LOL Seriously...) But in Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, he met Nova. And he was constantly doting on her in any episode she appeared in, and she actually seemed to like him back! It was so cute!!
So after watching this...I just HAD to hex my Scooby his very own Nova. <3 Again, the collar is not hexed, but the ribbons are! Sometimes her ribbons looked more pink, sometimes they looked more red, so I tried to find an in-between. xD I'm not in love with the way the ears turned out, but I've always struggled with long spaniel ears. It's the best I could do. xD
---
What's Scooby without Shaggy? I decided I wanted Scooby's friends to be reunited with him. So I did what any normal person would do...I "Scoobified" them, and hexed them! Here's what I thought Shaggy might look like as a Scooby dog! Lighter in color, a flopped ear, and very...well...shaggy! He's a Sheepdog personality too. xD He and Scooby are so alike, I didn't want to stray too far from Scooby's looks or personality. So this is Shaggy!
---
And here's Fred, after he's been "Scoobified"! xD Lighter color to match his blonde hair, and what would Fred be without his ascot?? (Had to break my 'don't hex clothes on' rule for this, haha!) Also with Fred being more muscular and more of a leader type, I thought a Bulldog personality would suit this guy. Seeing his confident strut is always so cute on such a thin looking dog, haha! xD Despite me thinking he'd be more the serious type...Fred is a complete and utter goofball! <3
---
Here's Daphne after being "Scoobified"! I hexed on her scarf, and recently found a ribbon that seems to work well to complete her look! She has a droptail, and floppy ears, kind of made to represent her longer hair. And...a Scottie personality?? I honestly can't remember why I chose Scottie...I know Poodle would have been a little too much, but...Scottie?? xD ALL I can think, is in the live action movie and What's New Scooby Doo, she DOES learn martial arts and becomes stronger and more independent (which I LOVE) so maybe that's the side of her I was going for when I chose a base breed! Anyway because of this, she is feisty and energetic, and always ready to play! xDD
---
Here's Velma, "Scoobified"! The glasses aren't hexed on, and they might be a tad big for those little eyes, but they're the best I could find. xD So for Velma, I gave her a shorter tail, representing her shorter hair...and decided to do something different with the ears, by making one flop over! I think it turned out cute!! She also has cheek freckles! And taking inspiration from the Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated version of Velma (pictured) I also hexed on a red ribbon under her standing ear, for extra detail! (In the cartoon she has one on both sides, but it didn't work with the flopped ear, so my dog only has one.) I don't love that the color is so close to her fur color...you can hardly see it! But that's how it is in the show too, so... (...Why'd it have to be red??)
Anyway I gave her a Labrador personality, since labs are a particularly smart breed of dog, and they're not too intense or wild in Petz. More calm, like Velma. So it seemed perfect for her!
---
Surely we all know who Scrappy Doo is, right?? It's been a long time since I've seen Scrappy in any episodes (I need to find and re-watch the original series!) but I believe he's Scooby's nephew, and while I always remember liking him as a kid...looking online, it seems most people actually hate him?? Aside from him possibly being a bit annoying at times (he IS just a puppy though) I don't really get why all the hate. xD I always thought he was adorable! Regardless, I had fun hexing him! He's not actually just a no-grow, but an altered one! Scrappy has a bigger head, shorter, straighter tail, and shorter body size, so I made some modifications to get this Scrappy looking right!
I wanted to give him a Chihuahua or Dachshund personality, for all that spunk he has...but he's a Sheepdog too. I did this because I wanted to recycle one of my failed Scooby breeding test Dogz, from when I was testing for color mutations. I thought this would be a fun, fancy way to make use of some rejects and make them more special! So that's why he wound up a Sheepie after all! I must have picked a good one though...because this guy is still rather spunky and gets into trouble just like I'd expect Scrappy to! xDD He's also very photogenic and takes tons of super cute pics so easily! <3
Also, how many of you remember Scrappy having spots on his back? Am I the only one shocked that he doesn't even have ONE? I remember at least one...am I insane??
---
A long over-doo (pun intended) Scooby Dum! Another of Scooby's relatives! This guy had been suggested to me by a few people during Scooby's existence, but I never had the motivation to make him, even though I always planned to. Finally got around to it...and while I am pleased with the texture matching his coat color better than any of the normal texturable colors, I'm not loving the teeth. They always look out of place to me, but I don't know how to make it better, so...oh well. Like Scrappy, he is also a recycled Scooby breeding reject, and is all Sheepdog. Which DOES suit him well! xD
He has his own unique spots, a curved tail, rather than Scooby's crooked tail, whiskers on one of his jowls instead of his chin, and the buck teeth, like Scooby Dum! Also slightly bigger muzzle balls. I don't really love or use hats a lot, so I preferred to hex him without clothes and just use a collar. He's pretty cute, and I think he looks kind of mouse-like, somehow! <3
---
This is Scooby Dee! I hadn't seen any episodes with her before, but I'd seen pictures of her online. She guest-starred in an episode of What's New Scooby Doo (pictured above) and although she was never directly acknowledged in the episode, it was VERY clearly the same dog! xD (And it wasn't the first time What's New Scooby Doo brought in guest appearances from the original series!) Like Scrappy and Scooby Dum, she's also a recycled Scooby breeding reject, so she's also all Sheepdog, though I might have chosen something like Dalmatian for her, since she seems mellow and sweet. But that's fine! In other pictures, she does actually have blue eyes!
I tried to make her look a little more feminine. She also has a curved tail, an overall more slender look and a slightly smaller head. Not sure if it's even that noticeable, but I tried. x'DD I've read that she is Scooby's cousin...and Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum both apparently have a crush on her. xDD Not in my game though...those three are a combination for disaster!!
---
So I had NEVER seen or heard of Shooby AT ALL before!! There are mentions of random Scooby family members all over the place, but I never saw anything about this guy! But he was in an episode of What's New Scooby Doo, and I fell in love with his design!! He looks like Scooby, just scruffier, has a feathery tail, and triangle looking spots! I thought he was the cutest thing, and I HAD to hex him!! He's also hexed off a Scooby breeding reject! He might have been a Great Dane or something, had I not done it that way...since he seemed a tad bolder than Scooby, but relatively chill overall. The bandana is facing the wrong way, but I didn't hex it, and it's close enough for me, so. xD
They never say how or if Shooby is related. But supposedly his owner and Shaggy were childhood friends, and they have matching dogs with matching names, so...I like to pretend maybe they're littermates, and they got picked out together at the same time by the best friends! If not, probably just another cousin. xD
---
This guy cracks me up. xDD So in an episode of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, an evil Scooby-looking animatronic is created to try and frame Scooby Doo. It's known as the Fright Hound...and I thought it looked pretty freaking awesome, so of course I had to try and hex it! xD I have mixed feelings about it. I think the shape of the jowls came out good, and I like the eyes and the eye trick I did (I'll explain in a minute) but, like with Scooby Dum, the teeth don't make me very happy. They tend to look out of place sometimes and it bugs me. But I still don't know what it is that's bothering me. Or how to fix it. So...it is what it is.
He's bigger than Scooby (especially in the head xD) and has a unique tail and face shape. He's also based off another Scooby breeding reject. (So he trots like most Sheepies xDD) I might have used a Bulldog for him otherwise. Initially, even though I wanted to rescue another breeding reject, I was actually pretty disappointed about having such a cool, tough looking hex on a floppy Sheepie. I thought it would kind of not work, and would take away some of his coolness.
But actually, it turned out to be just what I needed! See, I reversed his eyes. So whenever the dog is trying to make sad eyes (which Sheepies do A LOT) this guy looks ANGRY!! So he actually looks angry, and thus more evil, MORE OFTEN. xD So the Sheepdog base actually worked in my favor!! The picture of him trotting, and looking down at the box of Scooby Snacks in front of him...his eyes SHOULD be sad in those pics, but they look angry now since they're reversed! Perfect!! xD He's a goofball though, so I get a lot of laughs with him! xD
---
So Lily is one of the two non-canon, but still closely related to Mystery Inc hexies I have. I always thought it would be fun to be a part of Mystery Inc, sooo...I took my 'anime self', Lily, and "Scoobified" her to see what she might look like as a Scooby dog. This was the result! So, in a way, you can say she's a version of me as a Scooby dog! I made her around the same time as Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Velma. She's based off a Mutt, since I love Mutts, and we can both be pretty goofy and random at times. xD
---
Essa is the other non-canon member...she's basically a doo-over (pun intended) of Lily Doo! As much as I like Lily, she came out rather...simple. Maybe too much so. And I couldn't see myself using her as a character in that universe as much, although I like her in Petz. So I "Scoobified" my dog version of Lily, which is basically a purple-eyed Bernese Mountain Dog. So in short...Essa (whose name is basically pretty random) is just a Bernese Mountain Dog in Scooby style! xDD I kind of love it though?? It does make her look especially cartoony and fun, and I like to imagine her going on adventures with Mystery Inc!
She's a Dalmatian for some unknown reason. She also recently got a bit of an upgrade! She used to have Daphne's ears, but they aren't the typical Bernese Mountain Dog ears, so they looked wrong. And her eyes didn't have color, like Fred/Daphne/Shaggy/Scooby/Velma. But I gave them her eye color as well, and yeah! I'm actually very happy with her now!!
---
And lastly, our newest canon edition as of last night...Marcie! Most of you might not know of her. She's a character in Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, and I already thought she actually looked quite pretty, but she became something more of a special character throughout the series. And by the end, I absolutely loved her. Spoilers ahead! Basically, Marcie was a classmate, she got caught up in some of their mysteries, even took up a spot in their gang for a little while, during Daphne's absence, and even when she left the group later, she stayed in touch and helped them out a lot undercover.
But the best part? And possibly biggest spoiler...
So, since she and Velma are so close, I HAD to have her in Petz...and I decided to even base her off of Velma's looks quite a bit! So she's also super smart and chill, so she also got a Lab personality! (Though I recycled a 1st gen, female lab who needed to be redone, so this pet is actually older than last night. Just the looks and identity are new! xD) I gave her darker hair (like Marcie's), a different texture to make it look longer than Velma's, and she's slightly scruffier too. She also has a long tail, representing Marcie's longer hair. (Tail was snagged from my Scruffy and Duchess dog file, since I was picturing that tail exactly, for some reason xD) And since I could actually tell Marcie had purple eyes...I gave her an eye color.
I wanted her to have on flopped ear to match Velma, but to avoid a direct copy, I switched which ear was flopping! ^^ I also gave her the hair clips her character has under one ear (despite the character having them on both sides) in place of Velma's bow. In some pictures, her top hair clip looks yellow, in others orange...so again, I tried to find an in-between. xD (...It mostly still looks orange, but whatever, I like it. xDD)
I've been SO excited about including her, so I was very eager to introduce her to Velma!
---
And here they are, interacting together! I may have cheated, and kept overwriting the copy of Velma until I found a version of her that actually got along with Marcie...because I just HAD to have them as friends with each other! So now they are, and I'm thrilled!! They look adorable side by side with how they match, and that's exactly what I was going for!
Marcie is the reason I started all this...but then I decided, why not show off the other groups too? So, in twos...here's some more pics of the rest!
---
Fred and Daphne thankfully get along! They're funny to watch though because Daphne is so energetic and wild...poor Fred can hardly keep up half the time. x'DDD
Shaggy and Scooby get along too! Pretty sure I must have manipulated that too, because come on...these two are practically one soul in two bodies. They MUST be friends. xDD
The two versions of me/Lily seem to get along too! That's more than I can say for the other two versions of me, Cali and Lilycat...
Scooby Dee and Scooby Dum actually look quite pretty together! They seemed to behave better together this time around...maybe there's hope for friendship after all!!
Nova didn't really appreciate me introducing her to Scooby's evil twin...Fright Hound liked chasing her around. And, while amusingly accurate, simply wasn't very nice.
Perhaps Fright Hound should have met Scrappy, since he decided to get a little evil on us, and go after poor Shooby. Poor guy didn't know what hit him. LOL He never would have expected such fury from one so small...
---
So that's it! For now...
I would eventually like to hex my other two favorite love interests of Scooby...
Chiquita:
And Amber:
(That picture though...my heart...SO CUTE!!)
But those would have to be entirely separate files that I'm not quite ready to tackle yet. But I plan to someday! ^^ Until then, this is all I got!
Hopefully you liked looking at my little Scooby addiction that I somehow crammed into my Petz game, LOL!
I just finished watching all of What's New Scooby Doo, and Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated that were on Netflix...and have learned they're being removed on December 14th. </3 Was kind of hoping to re-watch What's New Scooby Doo, but...oh well. It is strongly hinted at, and then actually CONFIRMED by the director later, that she and Velma develop feelings for each other!! And I kind of love it?!
