so i have quite a few cats that are mixed with the FWDAstralCat breed, and their ears tend to mismatch weirdly when posing (mostly on the insides), would this be faulted in a show? (while i'm at it, would it be okay to enter a cat like belle on the right there whose wings obscure part of the tail, or would that disqualify him?)
also, does making the background transparent on pose images count as editing? i saved the white-background versions of poses i've taken so far just in case, but i tend to make all the pictures i post transparent out of habit and i noticed everybody else's show pics seem to keep the white background so i just wanted to make sure, lol

making the background transparent does count as editing, and would disqualify you from most shows. Personally, I wouldn't mind either of these cats in my shows (i accept all breeds/hexies) so the wings covering a portion of the tail is not an issue for me. I also generally don't look at insides of ears, especially on hexed breeds where things can get a little wonky! I definitely look more for leg alignment, face alignment, and tail curve in that order. Though i'm sure some other, maybe more seasoned judges can jump in, I would think these catz are acceptable in shows that don't specifically say 'no addball hexies' or something similar! Cute catz btw

While making the background transparent does count as editing, it's not the kind of editing that the "no editing" rule is about, so I personally wouldn't DQ based on that. But it's probably better to be safe than sorry and just use the plain white version for shows.
I don't look at the ears when judging cat poses at all! The front legs and tail are usually all you need, and sometimes the chest ball or the eyes/nose. The ears barely move at all in (OB) poses, I don't think I've ever even seen them mentioned in any pose guide haha. So don't worry about it!
There is enough of Belle's tail visible that you can still judge whether there's a nice curve or not, so she's probably okay for most judges. I have a "no addball hexies" rule but I'd probably accept her haha. The problem (for me, anyway) lies more with stuff like tails made entirely out of addballs so they don't act the same way as unedited tails or tails made from the original balls.

I would consider a transparent background editing - but if I'm being honest, I may not even notice it when judging, and even then, I'd probably let it slide. But it would make me pay closer attention for any editing of the pose itself. To make it easier on yourself, always use white-background photos when showing.
Both of these Catz would be acceptable in my shows. It may prompt a quick question ("Does the cat on the right have an addball tail?") before I judge, but I would consider them like I do with hexies. As long as I can see their face and legs, they are acceptable. (Tails are usually important to see, too, but some Catz are bob-tailed, or have drop-tails. Tails are considered in my judging if applicable to the individual cat.)
