SGCh Gin/JC's End Up Together "Sally" Bred by Willow
Points: 42 Sally is now Supreme Grand Champion! 01/12/20I'm pleased to finally organise showing a pup I received from one of Willow's magnificent adoption posts! I adopt so many beautiful dogs from Willow, I'm sure there will be more hitting the showring in the future! Sally here, has been bred with the most interesting overwrite - her many different coloured markings reminded me of patchwork, and the red, yellows and blues or her coat and eyes also reminded me of the character Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. So this is who Sally the Dogz dog is named after, and her showname also comes from a song in the film, Sally's Song. Haunting and mournful, the lyrics express Sally's feelings of hopelessness about her relationship with Jack Skellington: "Will we ever/End up together?/No I think not". For Sally the Dogz dog, "End Up Together" is an affirmation, (it will happen, it has happened) and so is instead a celebration of adoption and happy endings. Christmas is coming and for Sally, so is an SGCh trophy!

SGCh Gin's Mulled Wine "Bertie" SGCh Aero x SCGh Snowshoe
Bertie is now Supreme Grand Champion! 13/12/20 Bertie is the first pup of my 3rd gen collection of showdogs to retire! At least I think it's 3rd gen, I get confused! Anyway, he unites the families that started with Kigu, Jaffa, Chalice and Snakebite, continuing their lines of showing champs! Bertie's red and blue halfie colouring directly brings together the themes of hot and cold from his parents Aero and Snowshoe. He's also inherited their Chi socks, and the colours altogether have a Christmassy vibe. He is my red red wine boy, named after Bertie Bassett, the liquorice all-sorts character from Bassetts who make wine gums! So there is a link there, but mainly Bertie is warm and joyful like a cosy mug of mulled wine. I love him so much!

SGCh Gin's Eleventh Hour "Tricolore"
Points: 36 Tricolore is now Supreme Grand Champion! 16/12/20 Ah poor Tricolore, he retired on the 16th and has waited this long for his celebratory retirement post! But it is finally here, which is apt considering his showname is 'Eleventh Hour', as in, at the very last minute! And just as we're about the leave 2020 as well! Tricolore's showname was actually inspired by the fact that I almost put him up for auction at TFM, but changed my mind just beforehand. He was so striking as he posed for his auction pics, that I just had to keep him and show him off as part of my team. Tricolore's grey brows combined with his black and brown ears really stood out to me. His selfie lids make his look more effective and he has a noble uniqueness. I'm sure I've said it before, but I have developed a mad obsession for fuzzy dalmatians with dramatic eyebrows!! (Which I blame on my early showchamp Chalice.) I'm excited to see what his offspring will look like! I'm so glad I kept him and that, with his retirement, we round off showing in 2020 and look forward to 2021! Happy New Year!

SGCh Gin's Oh, Moon Moon! "Moonbow" SGCh Elderflower x SGCh Boreal
Points: 31 Moonbow is now Supreme Grand Champion! 12/01/21 Moonbow is the dear child of SGChs Elderflower and Boreal, a union that introduced the Sodafox! (Patent pending/not really xD) Cirrutopia's Husky OW is quite fox-like and wolfish in my opinion, and so Moonbow incorporates those elements as a goofy and bubbly Sodafox, whilst rocking the wintry theme inherited from her father. The contrast between her grey coat and glistening eyes inspired her call name, whilst her showname comes from the Moon Moon meme which I'm very fond of! Moon Moon the wolf and character of the meme, is endearingly different and dances to her own tune; Moonbow is very much the same! As such, she had a bit of difficulty posing, but due to a recent discovery by Penny, this could have been down to an impossibility within her genetics! Nevertheless, Moonbow has done very well with quite the ribbon collection and now a shiny SGCh trophy and title! Shimmer and shimmy on, Moonbow!

SGCh Gin's Cottontail "Dandelion"Points: 35 Dandelion is now Supreme Grand Champion! 14/01/21 Dandelion was the result of a fun experiment with the Dogz 5 pomeranian breed. I've seen many tail-swapped dogz in my time, (sheepie tails are a big fave of mine!) but never a dali with this balloon-like pom pom! Dandelion's shape inspired one of my most favourite hexie projects to date, the Planetarium Dali (up on the Brewery now!) and I thought it would be fun to bring one of these pom pom tailed dalis to the showring. Dandelion was my first choice due to her original dalmatian colouring and selfie lids - I'm sure I've said this many times, but original dalmatians with little quirks are a favourite of mine! The D5 pomeranian also comes with a subtle fluffy chest which is another nice detail for Dandelion that sets her apart. This fluffiness works well with a chest patch, so I will choose her partner carefully in the hopes that Dandy's offspring will inherit these features!

SGCh Gin/LF's Safety Dance "Pawn" Bred by Arie (or so we're saying for security reasons) Pawn is now Supreme Grand Champion! 18/01/21 We don't speak of it much these days, but Pawn here was originally intended for Secret Agent Stuff, and if it weren't for the Incident, Pawn would've been fully trained for all sorts of Undercover and Infiltration Things. To read more, you can find Pawn's file here, but the main gist is that Pawn grew up invisible for his own safety, without realising he was invisible. A bizarre situation indeed and it was only rectified once his invisibilty device recognised he was Truly Safe and deactivated. Only then could he leave the Litterz Factory, his safe haven for so long and be adopted without fear or threat from Enemies. After adjusting to his new home at the Brewery and getting used to finally being visible, it was time for a new career for Pawn. Yes, by hitting the showring, it was now guaranteed that Pawn would finally be seen by many, posing proudly! And look how many ribbons and awards he now has! What's more, his showname Safety Dance (from the song) suggests that Pawn is dancing in the face of any would-be Enemies - Pawn is safe, he can now be seen and he can dance!

SGCh Gin/Rho's Elven Ring of Air "Vilya" Bred by RhoPoints: 30 Vilya is now Supreme Grand Champion! 20/01/21 I leapt at the chance to adopt Vilya from Rho's website, what a gorgeous dog she is! Vilya is the daughter of Rho's champs Nyx and Dalaran, and carries Nyx's beautiful golden face markings which I love! I remember also being struck by a pup that Zan showed (Vanya), who I'm sure must also come from Nyx, so I'm going to assume he is Vilya's sibling! I was very happy when Vilya became available, having been wowed by these dogs! After a spot of googling, I learnt that Vilya is also the name of a ring of power from The Lord of the Rings, made by the Elves - this is where Vilya the Dogz dog gets her showname. I think this suits her, especially as this ring is sapphire and gold! Vilya also has the elegance and grace of an airy Elf. Though she has achieved a sparkling SGCh trophy, Vilya has so far resisted the corruption that such treasures can bring - nevertheless she is definitely my preciousssssss.

SGCh Gin/Bec's Braveheart "Wallace" Bred by Bec
Points: 37 Wallace is now Supreme Grand Champion! 28/01/21 Young Wallace here is one of many gorgeous dogz I've adopted from Bec in the months I've been a part of the PC. I love adopting from Bec and I'm sure there will be more from her in this showring soon! Wallace and his showname are based on the Scottish hero Willam Wallace, most famously (mis)represented in the film Braveheart. I confess, I haven't actually seen this film! But I have spent some time in Stirling, Scotland, where Wallace fought an epic battle and you will find the towering and gothic Wallace Monument placed there in his honour. There is also a William Wallace pub close by. The cosy, autumnal colours of Wallace the Dogz dog just sent me straight back to Scotland and those views from the Monument tower - I miss it very much and hope to be back there some day! I don't think Wallace the Dogz dog will be leading the charge in any battles soon, but still they will never take his freedom (to show off his shiny new SGCh trophy)!

SGCh Gin's Street Savoir Faire "Bailey"Points: 35 Bailey is now Supreme Grand Champion! 28/01/21 Sometimes during a breeding project, something will come out without the features you're after but will just grab your heart anyway - that's Bailey! I absolutely love her boots and brows combination, as well as the contrast of those ginger brows with her blue/grey coat! The fact her eyes match her brows as well is really satisfying! Throw some spots in there and just yes, I absolutely love her! She is quite goofy and playful, and her personality and looks just suited the scruffy, street-smart character like Dodger from Oliver and Company (I feel like this is a trope but no other examples are coming to me in this moment!!). This is where her showname comes from, Dodger's song "Why Should I Worry?" (I love this song so much). "I may not have a dime, but I got street savoir faire" which translates as "street smarts". There is a catchy and carefree optimism about this song that is really uplifting. While it is problematic to romanticise economic struggles (you don't need money kid, just feed yourself on the energy and vibrancy of the city ...yum!), it is fun to fantasise about life largely free of responsibilities. Showing Bailey was one way to escape from life's responsibilities, and so she is now the SGCh of street smarts with a trophy to prove it!
Why should I worry? Why should I care?

SGCh Gin's Starflower "Castor" SGCh Chamouny x SGCh Oleander
Points: 30 Castor is now Supreme Grand Champion! 31/01/21 Castor is the daughter of two of my very faves, Chamouny and Oleander, and brings together the lines that started with Diamonds, Marston, Chalice and Snakebite. Castor looks very different from her parents and from her grandparents too, though I'd argue her grey eyes have a tinge of blue to them that calls back to her mother and grandmothers. I love her Sheepdog-esque colouring and the haunting quality of her eyes. She follows in her father's footsteps with a name from a poisonous plant, the castor oil plant which has star-shaped leaves. Can you guess where this is going? Castor is also the name of a star which shines with a bright white light, but also looks blue and so is fitting to Castor the Dogz dog's blue and white halfie coat. For these reasons, her showname is Starflower. With her retirement, Castor marks my 30th SGCh! What's satisfying about this is that her father, Oleander, marked my 20th and her grandfather, Snakebite, my 10th! So Castor ties things up nicely as these lines can be united no further. Stay tuned for another batch of celebratory puppies! In the meantime, Castor will celebrate her SGCh trophy and being my 30th SGCh!

Showroom Pupdate #3 It's that time again! With Castor's retirement, my show team now has 30 SGChs, so this means it's time for celebratory litters! Some of these pups inherit the lineage of my very first champs and there's also lots of new blood too! Without further ado, here they are:
Some of these babies will follow in the pawprints of their parents and head into the showring! I'm thinking this time round, that once I've decided, the remaining pups will be put up for adoption! This relies on me getting organised, so bear with me! When they're ready, I will put up an announcement post - stay tuned! Meanwhile, today some of my next show dogz entered the ring, taking the first steps towards 40 SGChs!
