This is kind of a test idk what im doing because I'm not used to forums but does anyone know why some dogz jump on ledges? xD I'm really curious since they're scared of heights or whatever but they have their own animation for it?

If you double-click to call your dog above a ledge, they will jump onto that ledge (I think?)

^ Do they? I've never seen that. I just tried with a dog and she looked at me as if I were an idiot. x'DDD But, she WAS a Dachshund mix...maybe she wasn't willing to try with her teeny legs LOL
I've only ever seen them jump onto ledges of their own accord. I don't know why, but they just randomly seem to do it. Labs especially!

Thor Pretty cool! I do know that Catz can drink out of the sink...I wonder if the two actions are linked? Maybe the idea is to call them up for a drink! xD I'm tempted to try again, just because I've never seen this before! It's so cool to see these things you never knew about!!

It works on any ledge I believe. I just happened to be in the kitchen (and also didn't want to show off my messy living room x'D -- just like irl I am shy about my messy house!? xDD)
There might be a dog that is agile that will jump on ledges. I've def seen the behavior? But I could be mixing it up with catz.

I think any dog is capable of it, just many are often less inclined to do so than others, depending on what breeds they are (or mixed with). And I think most ledges are open to them for this, except I don't think I've ever seen any dog, not even a lab, sit on the fence. XD

Well, like I've said, I've seen labs more prone to wanting to jump onto ledges of their own accord...so I just tried two 1st gen labs and tried to call them onto the chair in the Family Room. Was once again met with "Are you stupid??" looks from both. x'DD Worked flawlessly with the Catz I tried, but my Dogz are trying to keep this well-known secret exactly that. x'DDD
Not saying I don't believe you guys, just saying my Dogz are pretending they have no clue about this feature LOL

That's okay. To be honest, I can't find the dog that made me believe that dogz could do it. But if I remember, I'll let you know. I just remember it happening because I was like "what the heck? you jumped up there and started crying?" and it was because I had called above a ledge?? Anyway, we entirely could be misremembering only catz doing this. But until I find proof we will say its only catz xD

Yep! On the fence, too! Except I haven't been able to successfully call them to jump up on any ledge so far. They've only been doing it on their own, and this pup seems more inclined to jump up on things than the other lab pup I was trying. Both are 1st gens. Maybe if you train them with treats to more easily come when called, and reward for jumping on ledges? :\

Kel That puppy is precious LOL Look at those big, sweet eyes... You didn't actually call that one onto a ledge? He/She looked like they were responding to your cursor for a minute. I wonder if they were following your cursor, then leapt up there to keep up with it...or, if it was just chance. I love how we're all calling Dogz onto ledges now. LOL Could it have been a P5 thing? In the Asian Temple, one of the training tests was to get a pet to sit on a ledge for a while. Seems like it would have made sense to be able to call them onto the ledge, instead of 'cheating' and placing them there.

^ No, the hand was just resting there. I kept it up there for a couple moments in case I needed to reposition the recorder. I thought maybe the pup, Abe, might be following the hand too, but petz are much more likely to do things like strike a pose or jump up on ledges when fresh out the door or entering another room, which was the latter in this case.
I dunno about P5. I just always placed my dogz on the ledge in that mini game otherwise it'd take forever lol.

maybe Tendency To Sit is one of those elusive personality modifiers we have no idea about, LOL

I have a few idiots who like to do that too. It's a riot watching some of my hexed breeds go disjointed as they do the thing. Maybe I'll get a photo next time they decide to get stupid on me XD
