I haven't been here in a while, so if this is the incorrect place for a thread of this type then well, my apologies!
But yeah, as the title says, I'm looking for a good laptop for college. I'm going to be starting in the fall, and I just really don't know what to buy.
I'm pretty much open to whatever. I'm not a fan of any of the new windows, but I'm still willing to get one and grow to it. Then again, I'm not opposed to getting a mac. Basically, I'm just trying to find something that isn't too expensive, but can also work really well. I want something that can handle simple tasks, but also be able to play the sims if I want to or whatever.
My original plan was to just buy a lightly used mac off of amazon because the prices are usually somewhat cheaper. But yeah, I just don't know what to get.
I'm not looking for something extremely inexpensive, but I am going to be a broke college kid so I'd like to avoid the $1,000 range if I could.
I'd really appreciate it if you could link me to what I should buy. Because it makes it easier and I trust all of you more than I trust myself lmao.
But yeah, thanks in advance!

If you're looking for a less expensive but still really great laptop, I would suggest going with a PC as opposed to a mac. Then again, it depends on what you'll be using it for.
Macs are GREAT for making music, editing videos, and organization. Plus they last a few years longer from what I've noticed. PCs are a lot better in terms of price and they play pretty much every video game you could want, whereas a lot of videogames are unable to run on macs. (sims and petz CAN run of macbooks, though, in case you're wondering)
My PC was about $600 and it has a touchscreen (not necessary but still cool) runs fast, is big, and is capable of running any game I've tried. Sims and petz included, haha.
Then again, if you're going to use it for college you'll probably be using it in the library and such, and PC's generally have a worse battery life than a mac. On a full charge my PC lasts about 2 hours which isn't great. (Then again, most college libraries have plugs EVERYWHERE imaginable haha)
Sorry if I'm rambling but I hope this gave you some ideas! Definitely check out the specs when shopping for them, you'll want to pay attention to the processor, memory, and graphics card. Good luck!
