I have to say I am really enjoying the mostly 3D nature of Shield. I haven't played in a while but I like running amok in the Wilds and getting ballsy and challenging the strong pokemon. I don't lose lmao.

As someone who's felt kind of lukewarm about the main series titles this gen, I'm thrilled to see that the side games are blowing it out of the water! Mystery Dungeons and Snap remakes, the great devs behind Pokemon Masters, even GO has become a lot more player-friendly lately after a lot of fumbles
I'm especially excited about this one in particular because I've never gotten to play the original Snap (should probably try to find a good used copy or something!) but a friend who has a Switch will probably be getting this one so we can play it together or something! Definitely hyped!

I still have my Nintendo 64 and Snap. It might seem like a boring game to play at first since the premise is "just taking pictures" (as I've seen some people say in the comments on the trailer) but trust me, my brother and I were never bored, especially when you could try different techniques and get shots like this- (images are large and not great quality because I had to take them from my TV) I couldn't resist sharing some! A lot of these pictures are directly from my childhood so they hold special memories for me: Charizard
GyaradosSandshrewPikachu (and Articuno! One of the many "secrets" in the game) SlowpokeKoffing (lol sorry Koffing, but he was always going after Jigglypuff) Jigglypuff (after I save her from Koffing chasing her) Pikachu againSquirtle
Rapidash
Pikachu yet again
Lapras (not the greatest shot, but it looks like she's playing peek a boo xD) ArticunoSassy EeveeKangaskhanChansey
Last one of Pikachu, I promiseI can only imagine the possibilities the new game will have with a lot more Pokemon and more techniques to get great shots!

Late response, but those pictures are so cool! Makes me think of the photo feature in Alola, but better, despite being older! Now I'm even more excited to hopefully get to experience the new one!

Yeah I found the game (sword) quite dissapointing after a while tbh. It started off amazing and the graphics and customisation was cool. But it quickly felt formulaic. I liked the first gym but the second one was meh. The wild area is a bit dissapointing and the camping while fun is just like alright. I do like the battles and the dynamax in the stadium but idk. The villians are boring as well.
Also the catching of the pokemon lacks surprise amymore it feels like a chore. Still im excited to play on and see what happens in the other gyms. I like the legendary too. My fav pokemon game is still pokemon black which had a better story imo
I still need to play pokemon sun lol

I think SWSH has parts that really speak to the talent of the actual programmers/developers working on the game, and I don't fault them at all for any quality issues I have. I think there are enough aspects that seem rushed or incomplete to suggest some kind of management issue, though, like trying to maintain unreasonably short development timelines. It has parts I really like, and parts with tremendous potential, but I think unfortunately ended up lackluster. Once again, though, I don't blame the devs, and don't have enough info to point any fingers definitively, but I look toward people higher on the management chain if I had to guess.
I love Gen V a lot too! Definitely in my top three (Gen III also makes that list!). If you liked the story in BW/BW2, the Alola games had a strong story, too, I felt. Definitely tackled some topics that really resonated with me. I think it had some pacing issues, for sure, and I think USUM is stuff they meant to include in the first set but didn't finish in time (which is not great), but overall they hold a special place in my heart. The characters really stuck with me too, for the most part. There are definitely legitimate criticisms of it, and a lot of people don't like it, but that's fine because everyone has different tastes, so it's just individual!

I cant wait for SNAP!! I loved it! There are a lot for little side pokemon games which are amazing and never get the recognition they deserve, like Ranger, i adored those games coz it was so different.
I actually really enjoyed and have 100% completed my pokedex for both Sword and Armor. Now its my shiny hunting game as i have all the shiny hunting gear now xD. The story with Hop was a bit odd with his constant mood swings and it still gets me when they use British slang being British it makes me cringe just a little but not as bad as i feared it would. I didnt like that there was no reallll bad guys, team yell were just a disappointment and not really relevant to anything.
I really disliked Sun and Moon, i dont know what it was about it i think it was far too straight and you couldn't just go off and do things the areas were tiny and the game felt short, you were constantly followed by Lillie and having to do those plot points, i didn't like the island challenges as they were faaar to easy you had no real reason to train your team. It really felt like they dumbed it down for younger players. Ultra sun was better i liked the wormholes... hated that it was practically the same story, i thought it would be like B/W where B/W2 was later in the same timeline. It also bulked it out which made it more satisfying.
B/W was actually very underrated. I loved that you HAD to use only new pokemon so it threw you off a little, the story with N was interesting. and you had that level of freedom that Sun was lacking.
X & Y are by far my fav's though from the 3D styled. i dont know if its coz they were the first of that style and you could see the love in it (Plus is added Dedenne and <333333) it didnt have somebody just showing me the way all through the game.
Lets go i loved but i know it like the back of my hand as ive played that story since Blue so didnt seem as special, but loved the following pokemon OMG I COULD RIDE ARCANINE IT WAS MY DREAM.
I think my fav games will always be Johto, I dont know why but Silver/Gold/Crystal/HG/SS will always have that special place in my heart. ROLL ON 'LETS GO JOHTO!' for the next remake xD

ROLL ON 'LETS GO JOHTO!' for the next remake xD They're my favorite too. Am I weird that I like the Yellow and G/S on Game boy color slightly better because I can play it one handed. ^_^; I enjoyed Soul Silver a lot though. Diamond and Pearl... I couldn't ever figure out a good team. And I got bored grinding because I couldn't do it one handed while watching TV. I ended up trading one of them off for Mario Kart it was so bad. My favorite side game is still Pokemon Pinball. I ought to break that out and play it again. Pokemon TCG for GBC was really fun too. I never had the money to get a N64... But I always wanted to play snap. Not enough games on the switch to justify the price when I suspect my tablet may need replacing in the near future. Other than GO(no cellphone)... Are there any Pokemon games y'all like for Android?

I actually love G/S/C! The graphics are so pleasantly nostalgia-inducing, but at the same time it's not missing as many QOLs as R/B/Y. Guess it helps that I've never played HGSS, though. Though I agree with DPP never grabbing me quite as much - I liked a lot, a lot of things about it, but it was pretty grindy. Of course, this could partially be my fault because I played on an emulator and it ran slow as molasses. I've really been wanting a physical copy for legitimacy purposes and to try again with a better framerate.
For side games, always like Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, Conquest is pretty fun too... there are just a lot of good ones out there! I don't know of many mobile games, though. I play Masters a lot and like it really well, because it's so much fun getting to see different characters interacting and being fleshed out. Gave me some fun new ships too, lol. It was reallly rough when it first came out, but there have been so many QOL changes and stuff - plus the first anniversary is coming up! Other than that, I know there's like some kind of puzzle game, and a Leage of Legends arena type one coming out, but I don't know much about them yet apart from that.

Because I got so bored grinding. I still haven't finished it. A friend gave me SS after she finished it. The main thing I didn't like about it was that I couldn't play it one handed. There's a lot to be said about being able to work it one handed, and not having to look while grinding. Adding the touch screen interface actually took away from the game for me. The Graphics where great though. I don't know of many mobile games, though. I wanted to try Pokemon Masters awhile back, because it looked fun. Unfortunately my tablet's getting enough age on it that it's not compatible. Anyone tried Pokemon TCG online? I played it everyday for awhile, but since I've been playing petz again, I dropped it on accident.
