I was confused about the name thing at first as well. I can only kind of answer the questions, so I'll label the corresponding answers 1-4. 1. I would keep a backup at first. Sometimes the email gets lost or deleted, a file gets lost or corrupted, it nevers goes through, etc. So people will ask for you to resend it. After that, I'm not sure what everyone does sorry :/. 2. You can always put them in freebies everyone likes something different. Lots of people like high gen but there's nothing saying you can't adopt them out! 3. It's a little of both? The posing for sure. For the pet, if you mean adoption center pet, normally not I think? But if you mean 1st gen like two adoption center petz had a baby, I think you could enter that pet. For shows that are about funny poses, I think any pet is fine, but for posing and specifics, people I think want unique petz so you don't have 2 of the same. 4. I still love my gen 1 petz because of nostalgia and such! I know some others do! But mainly people like unique high gen I would say. Hope this helps somewhat at least/someone else can add on! Edit: Don't worry about the name thing lol I miss a lot of things so it's fine haha

I think you can enter any pet in a show as long as it's not a downloadable adoption. And of course they need a showname. My third gen siamese Julia's showname is: Lunar's finally facing my Waterloo. (Lol XD, she's hard to pose). I don't think many people adopt low gens to be honest. However a lot keep some because of nostalgia. ^^ I personally keep the petz I sent out in an 'adopted out folder' since there aren't that many. But maybe I'll delete the oldest ones in the future, I don't know. Also, some people love 'rescuing' low gen breeding leftovers you can always try!

Hey, RebeccaMonkey and Sasha , Petz seems like such an old community. I guess that's accurate, but still I really miss topics that are pinned on the board for people that just started. Also, at any other board I'm missing the basics. I know I'm ten years late, yet I would like to understand it.

I don't know how long the forums been around but it's definitely an old game! Hmm for basics, I will look for some threads. For starting off with showing petz and hexing petz, there are some really good threads on those boards for beginners. But just for general stuff, I'm not really sure :/ If you have any general questions I can try to answer here! Plus there's always the Help threads

There are also some threads in Petz talk and help. There is one that explains Petz talk and words and there is also the Petz help thread. There are also a lot of tutorials online. However the Petz guide (that was a site) seems to be down.

RebeccaMonkey and Sasha : Thank you for your replies! I actually read through the whole Petz talk and help even before I signed up here. But it only goes back to 2010, I suppose that most people who start right now have a parent or sibling telling them how it works. I could be a parent, but I'm not, and even if I was, my kid would be really young. I had Petz 3 when it first came out, but I didn't have internet back then. I guess I'll just go with the flow, sometimes checking in but in general playing my own game. Although I have many dogz and catz I'd be happy to find an owner for - they are just my own without any other genetics.

It's not that difficult. ^^ You can just join in and everyone will help. I didn't join the community until last year! I, like you, played Petz for years without internet. And when I finally got internet I didn't even think of searching 'petz' haha. Repost because I have found something I think will be useful! The Petz Guide! www.thepetzguide.helixinsanity.com/

SashaThank you so much for that guide! I didn't read the whole thing yet, but I most certainy will! On first glance it looks like it can answer most of my questions. It is also nice to know that I'm not the only one starting that late. So far the community seems nice, I just hope you guys give me time to learn
