HINT - Sara was caught like a bird! And she met a blind seer. It's typically a Halloween Movie. (:

Aww, little Sybil looks so sweet! And petzy Sybil is adorable as well. I wish I could think of the show her name is from, though. It seems familiar, but I just can't place it.

What a lovely kitten! She seems like such a sweet heart, I hope life treats her well and she finds a good home.
It makes me think of the movie "Halloween" the horror, in the 2007 re-make there is an actress in it called Sybil Danning I think?

We're all so close! The Crow; City of Angels (:
Little miss Sybil, mine, though, is - so far- doing well. She has no problems getting around or anything, but the blind eye is moot to movement. She hardly makes a peep when she does mew. And her tail is like a boneless worm. xD But her other eye isn't looking too hot within the past couple hours. I had wiped away eye gunk that sealed it shut. And it isn't really a cherry as much as the other eyelid is protecting the eye. So hopefully the vet can give me answers. If she ends up blind, I'm keeping her. Hopefully no one else has problems, though! She's so precious, I'm lucky to have found her. Her blind eye, by the way, looks like chemical damage. Just as a tabby we picked up had been spray painted. He's cleaned up now, but the poor thing was pretty matted.

Darn, haha! The name suits her well though, "a blind prophetess named Sybil" I haven't actually heard of the movie before ^^;
Little hexie sybil is way too cute as well <3
It's so sad someone would spray paint the poor cat. Hopefully the vet can figure out something and save her other eye. In my experience, excess discharge from the eye is usually from an infection. It's lucky she had you to care for her. Best of luck at the vet, I hope they can shed some light on what's wrong with her eye and can hopefully save her other one. Does she have any trouble with depth perception or getting around?

For the most part, she gets around easy. But when it's something to her left, she seems to ignore or get too close to it. I try not to move the furniture around much, as she uses the coffee table as her landing perch and spring board. But she's missed a couple times jumping to the couch. Or up to the recliner. (I had caught her mid fall to the recliner. Dx ) She's falling completely from climbing the cat post, I don't even know HOW she managed that. But other than being a bit clumsy, she's pretty good at chasing her brothers around - as long as it's on the floor.

I have a kitten that had a terrible eye infection to the point that her globe ruptured (I am a vet tech) so I offered to take this poor 5 day old kitten(umbilicus still attached, other eye normal and closed, bad eye HUGE wuth green pus escaping from the corner). The vet I was working with recommended to euthanize as she felt the kitten wouldn't survive (found in phoenix, early summer in a garage and temps had already hit 100 degrees farenheit, she was dehydrated, covered in fleas, other 3 siblings were already dead, but I elected to try. After about a week, she was doing great and I Named her Gipsy Danger. A week later, I talked to the same vet and she recommended to remove the eye. I scheduled an appointment at her husbands clinic (they do a lot of rescue and stray work and offered to me at a greatly discounted price) to have the eye removed. I was working an overnight shift at the time and was supposed to leave at 8am, but didn't leave until 10:45am and my appointment was at 8:45. So we decided to wait until there was another opening the following week. Little Gipsy was never painful (I was very worried about that) and was eating like a champ on my homemade formula. The following week the eye healed over. She never had to have it removed. She catches bugs like a champ! Animals do great with disability!

She looks like an angel I love the way you tried to capture her mottled fur in the hex. You can just see how soft she is. What kinds of bad experiences have you had with female calicos? The only cat I ever owned was one and she was my sweetheart.

She looks like an angel [heart] I love the way you tried to capture her mottled fur in the hex. You can just see how soft she is. What kinds of bad experiences have you had with female calicos? The only cat I ever owned was one and she was my sweetheart. My first calico was obnoxiously mean. She was the only cat I ever had to crate at night and with guests around because she would attack us at night and attack guests faces if they sat down. There was no reason for her meanness. I had many places for her to climb, we played with her until she'd get rough and turn on us. She had a constant diet, all her shots, spayed. She was just... very mean. The second one I owned was both mean and destructive. She had a dominance thing going. I keep my litter pans soil-free, I scoop several times a day and she still insisted on my plants if she couldn't pull them down. I did tinfoil over the pot, tape sticky-side up around the plants, even every deterrent I could find to stop her from using the soil as her personal potty. She would knock glasses off tables, attack my little dog, attack me, chew wires - I had to replace four phone chargers, a ds3 charger, five ps3 controller charger wires, our internet ether and phone lines, my laptop adapter, and a car charger. I have never had a cat so destructive. o.o and ALL of my fosters, all eight of my current cats in the house, never ever put a wire in their mouths. ~_~

Taking care of pets can be very stressful :\ It's helpful to keep in mind they are only animals and don't exactly have impulse control like we do. I've known too many people who just buy and throw away pets like old coats. Cats can't be trained as easily as dogs but I do think it's possible to some degree. Other times I am firmly reminded why I've always been a dog person Here's hoping Sybil won't become as unruly as some of your past calis!
