Gosh, showing hasn't been a priority of mine in maaany many many years, but the community looks much too interesting for intimidation to get in the way! c: Because it has been so long, though, I'd really appreciate some feedback on poses for a few cats that seem predispositioned to showing. Armitage and Monde are first up--Armitage has awfully long legs, but he seems to line them up fairly well. I remember BWs and tabbies being a breeze to pose, these two are the most compliant by far. Cinnamon's biggest problem seems to be wonky lids--so charming and so troublesome. sa;lgsasfl predispositioned cats--and then Pums. LOL// Pums is much too precious to exclude, but he does love to tilt his head and throw the balance off. :c Are these near show quality? If not, I'd really love to know what needs to be changed!

Don't be intimidated! We all definitely want more people to start showing their petz. It was rather slow for a while and participation has picked up quite a bit in the past few weeks Armitage's head, tail, & eyelids are good. However, he is slightly out of alignment. He's just slightly facing away from the camera by a couple of pixels. You want to eliminate that left front leg from showing as much as possible. Monde has a very good pose. It looks like he might be facing slightly away from the camera by about a pixel too. If it were my cat, I would probably enter this pose in a show. (But I would still try for a pose with perfect alignment since it will place higher) Cinnamon's pose seems to be spot on too (She has calico legs, and calicoes are supposed to have that bundle of pixels behind the ankle). I'm assuming she's got the calico personality too, lol. My only suggestion is to keep praising and taking tons of pics to get the lids as even as possible since she won't place as high with them being off (even though they aren't off by too much). Calico personality is -Really- hard to get near perfect pictures. And the more even the lids, the more likely she is to place or place higher depending on the show. Pums is too cute! And his pose looks good. I don't really have any suggestions for him and would use this photo in shows. You have some lovely kitties I hope to see you enter them in some shows!

Actually, Monde has a perfect leg allignment...you should be able to see a bundle of pixels coming out from behind the front legs like that=). Depending on competition, that pose is definitely BIS worthy to me.

I was looking at the one pixel showing at the ankle, not the feet. The feet pixels should definitely be showing. But even calicoes should only have 3 pixels wide max showing behind their feet and this kitty has 4 at the widest part. Anyways, it is a very nice pose, and would definitely place in my shows, possibly BIS depending on the competition

Oh gosh, can't stop hearing "What a Difference a Pixel Makes" to the tune of Dinah Washington sld;gdnsgkldsLOL
Going to have to start training my eye right away! +A+ Thank you guys so much for lending some much keener ones and giving specifics to work on with these fellows. Cinnamon certainly does have a calico personality, LMAO, as early on as I am she's already made certain it'll be a bit of a struggle to get her focus. Upwards and onwards, though!
Really sorry to hear that participation has been down, goodness, I'll try to chuck in a few entries as soon as possible and try to host a few once the nuances are more familiar territory. c: Again, thanks so much for the help!

If you have PetzA installed, you might want to try adjusting Cinnamon's engery to around 75 and hunger to around 80 or so. It helps to keep the catz more focused on posing. It is difficult to get those eyelids even, but it is do-able.

Ahh, thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind. c: At least it's a wonderfully amusing struggle, especially when those lids get bouncing dsl;gmLOL

Tabby's are very eager to pose, so the only reason I wouldn't give Monde a BIS placement is if there was another perfect pose from (for example) a Calico...because even though those are also very willing to pose, it's a little harder to get their eyelids to allign even. (depening on competition I also never place a Calico with uneven eyelids, because that's one of the main things about a Calico's pose that will make it stand out or not).
