Pics lifted straight from my Facebook page, so I apologise if they're too big! My first sock monkey: And, the first part of my baby's patchwork quilt!!: I'm so proud.

I love the sock monkey and the blanket looks like it will be great too! I used to love sewing but my machine broke and I still need to replace it.

Ah, you should. I'm using Youtube tutorials to teach myself the basics, and so far, I've done alright!

I took a family studies class in high school that taught me the basics and got me started but I would probably go the youtube route too for new things if I ever do get around to starting again haha.

Awww those are so cute! That sock monkey is adorable!
I told my husband I wanted a sewing machine for Christmas a few years ago and he was going to get me one until all his friends and family told him it was a terrible gift. =O So I got a day at the spa instead... awesomeness! But I still really want a sewing machine... =b

God I always wanted to make a patchwork quilt for my kids. Or as a gift for them when they were older, with some of my stuff in it, some of their old blankets as babies, some old clothes. It would have been so cute. I still have a few hand knit blankets my grandma made for me which go right to baby when he/she comes along. I think it's a super sweet, super intimate gift to give someone :3
