So, I just adopted some of Becca's adorable catz from her grab bag thread, and they inspired me to get back into showing because I kept trying to take pictures for a show off, and most of them kept posing. I think they're pretty good, but I want to know if anyone has any critiques or pointers for me (:
First up is Caroline. My own personal critique is that the tail is best in the third one, but the lids are off. I think the second one is okay?
This is Cecile. I know the alignment is not good on the first one, but lids like that are acceptable, yes? I'd like to know how the other two are, as well.
Next up is Jello. I guess I'd have to pick the second one, because of her lids, but I wish her tail were curled better.
Finally is Tecla. She doesn't have Cali lids, so no problems there, but how is her alignment/tail?
Thank you so much, whoever can give me some pointers with these guys. They all seem like natural posers already, and I'd love to put them out there <3

Yay! I'm excited to see that you're thinking about entering these babies in shows.
Anyway, I'm very new to/amateur at this myself, and I have a fair bit to get on with today so I can't promise too much detail, but I will do my best to help!
Caroline: Pose #3 has a lovely tail curve, as you stated, but it looks to me like #2 has the best alignment! I'm not absolutely certain, though, because I have difficulty telling with that fuzzy texture.
Cecile: None of these are tickling my fancy, I'm afraid to say! She is angled too close to the camera on all three, resulting in too many pixels to the right of the legs, if you see what I mean. Pose #3 is the closest you've gotten, and she has pretty good lids there too, but I'm still not sure if she'd place. I'm sure somone will put me right on this! ;D Her tail doesn't seem to have much curve to it, either?
Jello: I do not think #2 would place, I'm afraid (I could be wrong of course <3), and it's a) because of that tail and b) again, I think she's too close to the camera (but I can't quite tell, because of the fuzzy texture). It's so frustrating isn't it? Hehe. Personally, I would go with #3! I would avoid lids like those on #1, because judges tend not to like that 'surprised' look on a Cali and would rather see more of the lids.
Tecla: Ermmm... not sure, haha, but #2 looks like your best bet. #1 is way off alignment wise (again, too close - you can see a big chunk of extra leg to the top right).
I hope that helps, and if I'm wrong on anything (as I said I'm new at this myself) I'm sure someone will drop by and put me right. c: GOOD LUCK!

Becca pretty much covered it in terms of which poses out of them are the best & why/show they can be improved. But this is a tip that might help you, depending on if you've posed petz before: you don't align catz like you align dogz. With dogz, you try to line up them as exactly as possibly before posing (depends on the breed, obviously, but that's the general idea) but with catz you have to pose them slightly away from the camera. It's trial and error for you to figure out how far is too far/how close is too close but you'll find the middle ground. I bring this up because a lot of your poses are too close to the camera so that's what I think you're doing

Thank you very much, both of you, for the advice and tips. I tried to turn them away from the camera, because I read that on another thread in here, but I suppose I need to turn them away a bit further. I'll attempt it some more today and post some, hopefully, improved pictures! (:
Edit: Here are some fresh pictures! Let me know if they're any better? Cecile is proving to be the most difficult. I'm going to continue working on those legs, though. I think she could still be turned further away from camera, maybe?
