I've recently been playing the older petz games, and I started to wonder: Which petz game was the best? Now, the answer for most people will probably vary between the the last 3 games (P4 being my personal fav) but this caused another question to pop into my mind: What petz game was the best for its time, and which one improved the most on the series as a whole? Anyways I've been thinking about this for a while, and figure I'd share my question with the PC, and see what others think.
So, what petz game do you think was the best for its time? Which one improved the most on the series as a whole? And, if you care to share: Why?

good question! I personally think that 3 was probably the most improved, considering what 1 and 2 were like, but my favourite will always be 4. 4 was just an upgraded, excellent version of 3. I can't even begin to talk about how disappointing 5 was compared to it. D: I got 5 thinking, "brilliant! I can now breed litters instead of one at a time!"... little did I know, 5 would get all glitchy up in my grillz, and also worst of all not be backwards-compatible. that was the biggest issue for me. since petz bred/made in 4 can be played in all of 3, 4 and 5, it is definitely the winner in my eyes. c:

It's Petz4 for me too...obviously because of the adoption thing=] and I don't like the fact that you have to play those silly mini games in P5 to get your toys. The only quick one is in Arabia and you'll have to spend the whole day trying to get every single one of the toys...it's annoying.
Although I do have to admit that I have both versions installed on my computer and I used to keep all my hexed petz in my P5 game (some of them I've brought over to P4 too) just because I wasn't going to breed my hexies anyway and it helped keep my petz4 from getting too crowded.

I'm going to play the evil oldie card but I love my Petz 5 game:) HOWEVER, I hex/breed mostly in p4 so my litters are compatible, and if you have a strong side in the PKC you are almost required to use p4 so that your lines can reach their full potential:) I don't mind the 'bugs' and prefer the gameplay (even showing works well for me) so my personals all have both p4 and p5 versions:)
