Alright ... So according to the Petz games, what is the difference between a file listed regularly in a folder, and a file listed under 'Compatibility Files'? I'm having loads of trouble with my game all of a sudden out of nowhere ... My adopted pets wont show up in the game, even though they're listed in my 'Adopted Petz' folder. However, I noticed when I clicked the 'Compatibility Files' button, all of the .pet files weren't listed.
So, leading me to wonder: does this actually make a difference? I've already uninstalled/reinstalled Petz, and the next thing I'm planning on trying is installing it to the 'My Documents' folder, rather than 'Program Files'.
Many thanks to anyone who can clear this up ... Or actually understand what I'm trying to ask. UGH. T__T

I think this is a Vista issue. Look through the Windows 7, Vista, and Petz sticky above. Brynn can probably help you.

I'm 90% positive that installing in "My Documents" will solve this.

Believe me, I've been up and down the Vista/Windows7/Petz sticky, and unless I'm mistaken, I can't seem to find anything that can help me with my problem. :c I'm going to try installing to 'My Documents' next, hopefully that will fix it!

Did you try sending a PM to Brynn and asking her for help?

Well, I've basically come to accept the fact that my poor little pets are lost in space forever. ;n; Crying myself to sleep e'rry night. I'm more or less just curious now about the difference between files listed regularly, and those listed under compatibility files.
Thank you everyone for your advice! Looks like I'm a lost cause. :'/
