My computer has been down for a long time and I know if you don't play, bring out whatever with a pet or petz they will/might run away. Can/could that happen if I haven't since the end of June begining of July? I'm not getting my computer up and working agian tell either this Friday or sometime next week. I was just wondering when I get my computer back and open up petz will I have any runaways?

It only counts against you if you've been opening up your game and not bringing them out. If you haven't opened your game, they'll still be sitting there.

You can also download the Petz Runaway Rescue to retrieve any runaway petz. You can find it for download under Useful Petz Tools at www.petz.ws/oddpetz/.

^ While that programs works great 90% of the time, be aware that sometimes it can also make your files corrupt...I've had it happen only a couple of times, but I also keep back ups of my files, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me.
But I believe your petz will only feel neglected if you open the game without taking them out, just liks Selena said=], so I think you're safe.

^ That's probably true for some (or most) people, but in my case they show neglect even when I haven't opened my game. For instance, the day before yesterday I was playing and made sure that their neglect bars were down to zero. Today was the first time I played since then, and it showed their neglect bars had increased to about 10 or 20! I can even take pet files out of the game and put them back in days or weeks later, and there will be an increase still, albeit not a huge one. But despite all that, I haven't had runaways in a long long time, so you're prolly safe. Though this might all depend on one's computer, but it happens to me in p4 and 5, on both my machines. It's puzzling. Making backups of your petz will relieve you of that worry, and the petz runaway rescue works great too--with the small risk of corruption. If you're brave enough you can also do it manually by editing the registry, if I recall, but I think that works only for petz 2 - 4? There's a tutorial here ( boardwalkerz.com/carolyn/downloabx/tutorials/tutorialbits/runawayshome.txt ) on how to bring p5 runaways back using a hex editor though.
