I have a VPZ V2 Maine Coon in P5 that can't seem to breed with anything. I've tried multiple females and each time I try to breed with Petza a message pops up: "Couldn't mate. Perhaps one pet is too young, or another problem occurred."
Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, if anyone is particularly skilled with delving into the LNZ of pets and finding any errors or corruptions, I would be very grateful if you could take a peek in his file.

Can I try to breed him for you? I have an idea and if it works I'll send him back to you along with his files.
Here's my e-mail palecat@hotmail.com
PS We know each other from the PKC

Sounds obvious, but you checked that s/he was not neutered/spayed by accident? I forgot about that once... ahah. But I had a pet in my game that did that too, and it would take me to the nursery and say that the breeding didn't work... and the cat still fathered babies, so technically it worked, but that message came up. Hm... I don't know.

I sent him, along with three females. If you actually get them to breed, I'll send over a hexed file if you're willing to brex me a kitten. Thanks for trying!
EDIT: Hahaha, no, he's not neutered, I checked. It does sound like something that I'd do.

I have a few Petz that can't breed because they were hexed with a file with a different ID number than the breedfile that comes with the game, or in your case, is usually downloaded. I don't know how to fix that, but I figured I'd throw that out there as a possible explanation. :]
However, if you didn't get the pet from someone else, that probably isn't the case, haha.
Good luck!

Yay. I got them to breed. It was an offset problem. Go ahead and send me the hexed file and I'll breed you as many kittens as you want. Or you can change the offset to 32222

I just checked his breedfile, and it's the same number as the other kitties. But thanks for the suggestion! Keep 'em coming, everyone, if you have any idea.
EDIT: Palecat, how do I change the offset?

I use PW. Open up the breed file and hit save as. A window will pop up,hit save and then another window will ask you to enter the offset number.
Do you want me to breed you some kittens from your hexed file?
Do you want the two kittens from Lizette and Moritz? I'd hate to delete them.
What offset is your file?

Nope, his breedfile is 32222. Hmm.. maybe it's just something messed up with my system.
Are any of the kittens A-reg? They weren't intended for each other, but there's no reason I can't switch around partners.
EDIT: And I haven't actually hexed the file - if I need him bred later on, could I PM you at PKC when I hex the file?

I'm unsure about the kittens. I'll age them and see how they look. And send you pics of them And of course you can Pm me when you hex the file. I owe you for the two dogs you hexed for me.

Sorry to double post, but unfortunately the cats wouldn't breed correctly still. I'm still looking for suggestions. Anyone?
