They tell stories, the old. Stories that have morals and warnings laced subtly in each word. They tell you that there are some places better left undisturbed, that the dead are best forgotten. But what happens when no one tells you that within the soil you build your foundations on, are the ashes of the insane, the bones of murderers, laid to rest and to be forgotten?
Terrible things happen, in due time.
Long after the first stone was placed upon the land that is now the thriving town of Greenridge, no one would believe such a story. It was so peaceful, how could they? But after a terrible accident that resulted in the death of a young college freshman that was only looking to fit in, horrible things have started to happen. Many students and teachers alike have complained about having disturbing nightmares when they sleep, nightmares of their wonderful town rusted and decayed and of terrible, twisted human-like monstrosities chasing them down. What made these nightmares even more unsettling was that everyone who had one saw the same things as their peers.
Fear causes people to act in strange ways, and those affected would refuse to sleep, but eventually they all would share the same fate and disappear... Some were even found dead in the most gruesome of displays that left the local authorities stumped! To those that survived, they shared the same idea and instead of saying 'Good night' they'd tell each other...
DON'T FALL ASLEEP is a horror board inspired by such games and movies like Silent Hill and Nightmare on Elm Street. There's room here for everyone, student, teacher and your regular, average Joe. We're brand new and looking to expand our member-base in hopes of creating a close and friendly community (while we try to scare the crap out of ourselves). Our focus is on developing unique and original characters and pushing them past their limits. So come, join our little family and help us figure out the nightmares that plague the town. Will you be one of the lucky to survive? Or will you find yourself trapped in your nightmares, suffering a personal hell?
I rarely advertise for friends but I love the concept of the site and I would love to keep it going. If there are any swear words/stuff in the advertisement, let me know and I'll edit them out, I copy + pasted a Proboards code from their site. I skimmed it and I didn't see anything big but I might have missed it. I do not own the site, I'm merely advertising for a friend. If you need any help understanding anything, I'd be more than happy to help you out :3
As far as I know, there is no set limit for roleplaying. They do suggest posting around 4-5 paragraphs as a general rule however a word limit isn't set in stone. Most people there do put in over 4 paragraphs so you should have something to work from. If they don't, then you can't be blamed, haha. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
