I know theres a lot of music fans on here, so I wanna know -- how do you guys find out about music and bands to listen to? Where do you look when your itching to add some new tunes to your library?
If its a magazine or website or anything, I'd love to know details haha. I'm constantly looking for new bands and music to look at~

www.last.fm/ I go there the most. Just type in a band I like and view similar artists. :D Then I use youtube to see if I actually like them lol.

I use like, everything haha.
I've just started using purevolume, i'm really digging that. I read Alternative press like its going off the shelf, and I really want to pick up this new magazine called Substream soon to look up. I just can't find it around here haha Myspace is big for helping me find music, and through that I get bands from others and through tour dates. I'm constantly checking out the local venue places, and occasionally record label websites for good stuff. Occasionally i'll check out an actual music store for stuff too. And two of my bestfriends are into the same music as I am so we constantly are exchanging bands haha.

lol my boyfriend. He has gigs of it on his computer and he'll always turn me onto something new. He and I also check out Myspace a lot for new bands, since they friend him like crazy lol.

Most of my music I find through my friends or boyfriend. All the classy stuff comes from the boy and all the hardcore dirty south screamo crap I get from the girls xD If I'm not getting suggestions from friends I just kinda... stumble on stuff, usually through soundtracks, youtube and the radio. There's been the odd occasion I've downloaded the wrong band and got a pleasant surprise. There was this really awesome website I used back in the day too... I can't remember the name of it, but it had a weekly song/artist rotation. It was a really good way to hear new bands and songs, either from indie names or big acts. This is really bugging me now, if I can find it again I'll post it because it was amazing, it covered everything from blues to rock to techno to grindcore in its rotations. edit- found it, the place has changed a bit though. Seems to be using featured playlists instead of daily songs now. songza.fm/

I don't usually actively look. Most of my music is because I stumbled on it through a soundtrack/tv show/movie/or friends. I often buy a soundtrack if there's one song that I enjoyed from the movie or tv and then end up liking most, if not all, of the soundtrack.

YouTube & friends... some of the best music I know has come from fanvids for movies and/or books... (':
My love of Shinedown comes from my first ever gig being theirs... I was dragged along by Pete, and they were great! :3

Depends what you mean by "new" because, honestly, I hate almost all of the music starting... 2003 maybe? I am pure oldies, from The Hollies to Depeche Mode (from their first album Speak & Spell onwards), The Alan Parson's Project to Peter & Gordon, Culture Club (beyond Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? *cringes*) to The Ink Spots. Generally, I research bands who have one song I like and find all of the bands who inspired them, affiliations, etc. since most of the music I like isn't too highly commercial and no one my age really relates to my interests in music... I also go to jams so I hear lots of music there and the musicians there tell me about good bands It makes me want to scream when people say the song Africa was originally done by Karl Wolf lol! End rant.

Hmm. Also, Jango. I listen to music a lot on there, and while you can tailor your station to suit your tastes, sometimes they slip in a "recommended" song, too. It means you get to hear great random songs, along with the ones you love.

If I didn't have my friends and YouTube, I would be nothing without mostly C/J/K pop.
