gahh. I'm going through this phase where I think all the art I make is horrible!
And I want to be better, because I'm trying to get into this art school/class thing... ._.
What do I do?

Practice, and not just the styles you are familiar with, practice in various styles and mediums. If you are trying for an art class or an art school, it is best to familiarize yourself with multiple techniques. If you are used to cartoons, try realist or stippling. If you are accustomed to colour, try shading in black and white or monotones (like only reds, or blues, etc).
There isn't much you can do about how you feel for your art, that just comes with being someone who dabbles in creative things - Almost every art-geared individual reaches a point where they aren't happy with what they do or feel they aren't achieving the best possible. Best thing to do for that is simply ignore yourself and keep at it. Keep working on improving and expanding your art knowledge. Researching various types of art (styles) and practicing what you learn can be an immense help.

I go through these phases. .-.;;
I just dig out old pictures of favorite characters (sentimental inspiration) or draw for friends for a while. If something funny happens, draw it. If you see something awesome, draw it. Just keep going at it, and as you improve, you'll start to see the good things about your art.
Personally, tho, I think we're all a little harsh on our -own- art. xDD

^tell you what I've been wanting to do! I've been wanting to do an art trade with someone for a while -- so what do you say? You get to practise by drawing something for me, and I draw something for you. ;3 it helps me with my 'drawspiration' when I'm stuck in a 'I hate everything I do D:' rut. Would that help you at all?
