how is it done? ;_;
I really, really want one for my sig at the pcg, and all the ones out there are crap (considering I could only find two)
Also, if those no way that a notsogenius like me is able to do it, I would be ultra grateful if someone else could? any insight is much appreciated too, because i have not a clue about the whole thing. i've only dabbled in very simple (like "slideshow" avs) animations.
agh, i'm so confused and want slumdog in my sig v_v
i didn't really know where i should put this, so mods feel free...

I've never personally done it before, although I've thought about it ... And I'm pretty positive I know of a way to do.
Does your computer have a DVD drive (I believe that's what it's called? o_o). I'm fairly certain all you'd have to do would be to bring up the movie on your computer, fast forward to the scene you'd like a GIF for, and snap screenshots like crazy. I can't recall exactly what program our computer plays our DVD's with, but I think it's just a free Buena Vista based program ...? Anywho, it's got a little button I use to take instant screen shots.
I've got a free program called Jasc Animation Shop 3 that I use to make GIF's. I imagine you could just line up your screen shots and make one easily using it. :3
I might be mistaken, but I always thought that way would work alright. XD I figure others use something a bit more ~sophisticated~.
Apart from that, I hear Photoshop CS2 can do movie to GIF ...? If you have a clip of what you want, that'd probably be more convenient.

I used to have that animation shop ^^
But I don't have a clip, and I'm not sure if firing screen shots would work. I have no idea how to make "prtsc" auto save so I can keep going.
It looks like this isn't going to work :\
