Wow...this really took me back. Nostalgia hit me instantly. I too went for Bootz, and I now remember I also had a "homebody" cat at some point. Like you, these games really filled a space in my life during troubling times as a kid. What a great time capsule you've got here!

What an incredible story! RKC and those first big sites were my first introduction into the petz community. I'm so blessed to have found this game and this forum when I did. Thank you, Ratqueen , for providing so many of us as kids with an amazing, safe space to grow up in. <3 I'm 30 now and couldn't be more blessed for the chance to have joined RKC as a child. It really did change my life. And, now, 20ish years later, my children are finding joy in the same game I did when I was young. It's pretty incredible that RKC could help support multiple generations of children/teens as they grow and learn about this game, petz forums, and the amazing community behind them. You're kind of a hero, Ratqueen. ♥

So nice to read this, Lady Kika ♥ ! It's crazy to think that so much time has passed and now your own kids are playing the game! I'm glad you found RKC to be a fun place to make memories

This was so fun to read! As someone who was born in 1999 & thus has only been playing petz for ~17? yrs it's so interesting to hear about how others have been doing it for so much longer.

Fun story! B&W Shorthair was my first Catz too, that I adopted on Catz 1. I kept the name Pouncer and I loved him so much. Unfortunately Pouncer is long gone as my brother one day decided to test out whether a file was truly gone from the computer once you emptied the recycle bin...and he used Pouncer to test it! Didn't think to back up the file. Couldn't have made a scribble in Paint and tested that? I was soooo mad at him and I think I might have even deleted the catz he adopted in revenge (it was my game anyway).
Of course I also no longer have most of my P2 petz anymore either, partly due to the gap between getting P2 and P4 (never had P3). I do have three P2 catz that I imported into P4 (I also named a couple of my P4 petz after P2 ones I'd had). And, as of a couple of days ago, I can now play with my P2 Cunny hex again, in P4!
