Windows 98, windows xp. But these are out of date and no longer supported for updates.
Petz does work on windows 10, though petza is questionable. I did get Omar's debugger to work though.

For the record, both Petz and Petza work fine for me on Windows 10.

Petz (3, 4, and 5) and PetzA all work perfectly for me on Windows 10 (some people do have some minor issues in any game or with PetzA though, but for the most part it *should* work fine, just make sure to follow the standard tips such as installing the game in My Documents, running as Admin etc)
Also a few people have Windows 11 now and have reported that the games seem to work for them as well.

I normally run petz on my mac (which I do not recommend because it's finicky haha) but I also have it on my windows 10 pc and it works great on there! Like Xoops said, just make sure you're running the petz program as admin.

I'm playing on Windows 10 without any issues. I no longer run it as admin, I just switched the Petz folder to My Documents so it's got all the permissions it needs to save the game and stuff.

Windows 10, installed into 'Documents' and all is well. (With the use of petza.toy of course. ) I also have it installed and working on it's own in VMWare virtual machine running Windows 98, within my Windows 10 OS. An exceptional option IMO.)

Windows 10, installed in C:/Petz, run as admin, everything works perfectly fine and has for a few years now!

For me I had to install it under C > Program files > PF Magic
I had to jump through some permission hoops but I got it working. It puts the adopted petz and petz pic in a separate folder, which I made a shortcut to on my desktop.
I'm using the petz debug as my brain slider app, and that only seems to work if the exe is in program files. The petza ones didn't work for me no matter where I put the petz folder.

That's where the game want to install it by default but it doesn't force you to, only if you leave the settings as is when installing the game. It's strongly recommended that you change the destination folder when on that stage of the installation as that is what causes the problems with the folders being in separate places.

I have so far not run into problems with this system, but I'll keep it in mind if I do. If I move the game though, the brain sliders quit working.
