I'm afraid I'm no help on the matter, but I'm following this and feeling a little worried. I don't think my computer is updating automatically anymore (even though I told it to...) and when I remember to, I do like to keep it up to date...
But I don't want something in Petz to break due to a Windows 10 update. :\ I'm really hoping everyone can find a way to make things work!

If the Windows Update fix doesn't work and all other options are exhausted, maybe reinstalling Petz and PetzA entirely might help? Or at least just uninstalling and reinstalling PetzA.
It seems like it could be Windows related but other people aren't having issues with the new update, so I'm not sure what the key difference is between people with a broken PetzA and people without.
Edit: hopefully Sherlock Software comes back up so PetzA can be redownloaded if need be. Edit 2: It looks like uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work for Willow if I'm reading correctly.

This is why I'm curious to see if it happens to anyone else so we know for sure that this is the problem. Like I said mine seems to be fine but I don't know if using the Pro version of Win10 would make a difference?

I have not yet updated, but after I do, I will certainly post my findings.
I was thinking to post a possible way around this for some, using VMWare, but I just booted that up twice, and for no apparent reason, it's not loading my Windows 98. *sighs*
Edits: I did get the VMWare to boot. That is definitely a good backdoor to having your Petz games run smoothly. It's basically like having an older OS computer, working within your new OS computer.

Huh so it is related to the Windows update-- I'd love to know what everyone's OS Name and Version is and if they are having problems haha just to see-- Windows 10 Home build 19041 I don't have the issue with PetzA and I'm using Petz 4

Question: Is it only the brain sliders that don't work? Do the other features work ok?

I wonder if Cookiedough and Willow have had any luck? I updated today and I'm having no issues so far. For reference I'm on Win 10 Pro build 19042.928. I just uninstalled and it worked then reinstalled and the problem is back EDIT: My version is windows 10 home 20H2 You may need to make a Windows 98 Virtual machine, Virtual Box is a good one. I suggest looking up a tutorial on how to make a Windows 98 VM.

I’ve managed to get mine to work but it doesn’t work for everyone so our best solution is to make a Windows 98 VM(Virtual Machine).
