Hey all,
I'm back from a long break. I last posted here in 2019. I forgot to mention I also have a collection of Tamagotchis and I am excited to see that there are others who play with handheld pets as those were my first intro to virtual pets and I've had many over the years. Since there's already a thread for that, I won't be going into details on that here. As I said in my introductory post the Petz series and handheld digital pets were a replacement for having another pet growing up and when I wasn't fostering kittens.
Currently I have two cats I adopted from fostering, Charlie and Annie who I've had that are almost 7 and it will be 7 years they've been with me and my family in August. They don't want anymore cats in the house, and I don't think they would be happy if I got another cat or any other pets. So I have Petz 5 and my Tamagotchis instead. I have 3 DS Petz games of the newer Petz series that I'm willing to give one more shot just because they are the only ones with the ability to breed. Petz 5 will always be the best pet simulator. I had Catz, Catz 2, and Catz 4, and then decided on Petz 5 instead of Catz 5 or Dogz 5 so I could play with all the pets in one game as opposed to being limited to just catz or dogz.
I wound up deleting my first Petz 5 save file, as my Macintosh Laptop was not running games well with Bootcamp and Windows as this was my only way to play for the time I used Petz 5 as well as another game I love. I recently took Bootcamp Windows 10 off of my Mac and it was a whopping 121 Gigabytes of data!
Since I really wanted to play PC games, and my two favorites would run better on an actual PC my dad decided to let me have a Dell PC Laptop with Windows 10 as an early Christmas gift and because of how long a Costco wait would run if the computers went of stock. I also got an external monitor to go with it, so I could have a bigger screen, but not be bogged down by a desktop computer that can't be moved. Thankfully last year for my birthday I got a wireless mouse because I have a tendency to have bad luck with wired mice falling and getting damaged. Plus cords are super hindering because their cords are never long enough for me.
I am really happy to be back here because this is the only place I can really talk about Petz besides Whiskerwick. I hope to have a great time being back in the community!
