Once again my breeding and hexing projects have been temporarily derailed (I still haven't finished my Chocolate Dali) as I have been distracted playing around breeding Dalis with Pomeranian tails because - - I love them!! So whimsical! Definitely hoping to show one at some point for the lols :3 Anyway, they gave me inspo for another Dali-themed hex and I am in need of some opinions! So here are Gaia and Luna, my Dalis of the Milky Way with planet tails xD xD I'm really happy with how the Earth came out, although it's definitely not super accurate x3 There are three things I'd like any opinions on: 1) Luna has a moon and I can't decide if I prefer the design with moon or without! 2) Textures are by BAD_DEATH, an absolute treasure trove of textures! I'm thinking the body galaxy texture (from the Marbled Galaxy set) might be a bit much (although in game it doesn't look quite so noisy) - do you like it? 3) I'm thinking to do a set of Dalis with different planets on their tails! Or I might do one Dali with a sun tail and then the planets orbiting the sun (like how Luna has a moon). I might even do both! Which do you think is the better idea? Thank you for any thoughts, suggestions and opinions you can spare! These were a lot of fun to make! But I really should stop getting distracted :3 I hope everyone has been having a good holiday!

This is wonderful! I actually think the moon is great, it might be cool to have some Dogz with and without moon(s) in your planned set, for variety.
As for the business of the texture I actually do agree with you that it's a little bit overkill, potentially - I really like the white spots that help to break things up, though, so I wonder if experimenting with the balance of white spots and texture might help? Or maybe, again, make this variable in your planned set!

They're simply adorable omg!!! i love the inclusion of the moon and seeing more types of planets (and a whole solar system!!) would be adorable!! and might cause me to show up in your dms for a trade
i personally don't mind the business of the texture, but if you'd like to experiment you can try to swap it so that the body is mainly black instead, with the texture as an accent on the paws/ears/some spots! or like smonikkims said, you can try to break it up with white spots instead!

I'm a space nerd and drooling over this dali! <3
The Earth is so well done! I too like textures, this one isn't too busy for me personally, because it's darker in color and it looks broken up with black and white spots.
The little Moon is adorable! Now, what if this one also had a little Sun around it? Maybe not so much at the very tip of the tail, but more diagonal from each other?
You could also do a Sun dali that has the other nine little planets at various places around it's body. xD

These are so cute, omg
I adore the tails, I adore the texture on the tails <3
The texture on the base is a bit busy, but not terrible. I agree with maybe trying to break it up with spots or black with accents! I personally love the one without the moon, but the little planets orbiting the sun sound so cute <33
Great job, really! I'm stunned with all the new hexies people come out with now a days, I have the creativity of a fart so watching beautiful creatures like this come to life are such a fun thing for me!!

Oh Wow! What a fun idea :-) I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with these if you decide to make more planets :-)
I like the one with the moon best ;-)

This is really cool! I like the texture and I think I like the one with the moon best. They're both great though! One with the sun would be really neat! Awesome job as always! -Bec-

Thank you so much everyone! Your positivity and awesome ideas are really encouraging! I will definitely experiment with breaking the texture up, either with more white spots or by having the texture in certain areas - I love both of those ideas! I'm sure I will end up with many different varieties which I always enjoy having hehe! I'll also have the moon as optional as well, I'm glad you like it! It would be great if there was a way to edit the animation so that the moon could actually orbit, otherwise it just swings manically with the tail xD it will look interesting with the whole solar systems, but I'm definitely going to go for it. I haven't been able to work on it much since, but I have found another texture for the body in BAD_DEATH's Eventide collection which is a bit more muted but still has that galaxy effect. I really love it, I think I prefer this one :3
A problem that I can foresee having is texture overload - does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of ingame textures? I might have to use them as well so as not to have too many extra files! I've never tried them before (a part from the ones already in the LNZ)
Thank you all so much again, this is going to be an exciting project for the new year! <3

I don't know anything about texture overload but I can tell you I 100% prefer that texture and think it looks 100x better, and I am 100% on board, wow!!

Whoah I can't believe I missed this until now but these are awesome! The second texture you found is perfect, it really gives a feel of deep space. This is such an original idea, I love it (also kind of love the dalis with pom tails because I had never seen that before either, how fun!). Can't wait to see where you take this design next!

I've never tried them before (a part from the ones already in the LNZ) Hexpedia has charts of textures here. Moonflower also has a super detailed chart with what all the textures look like on different background colors. It's on her Hex Tools page. Is something like that what you're looking for? I agree with smonikkims, and zan, that the second texture fits this hex better, maybe you can use the other one for something else later :-) Also, thanks for the tip about Bad Death's Textures... I haven't gotten that far in hexing yet, but I'm definitly going to go check them out.
