I expected this problem, but not quite like this. Is there a fix?
So I was thinking. Everyone likes puppies, everyone hates to see their cute little puppies grow up...but what if someone made each of the original breeds their own "No-Grow" overwrite file? That way, you could breed whatever you want and they'd stay as cute puppies when they grew up! It made the most sense for each original breed to have their own OW for this, so you didn't get any odd half-baby mixies, if you didn't want them. (Besides, they would all be cute in no-grow form. xD)
So I started toying with this idea, and here's what I got so far. Started working with the Dalmatian and Mutt files.
Left is the original Dali puppy form. Right is the adult form of my Puppy Overwrite so far. I know the tail needs to be thicker and -something- is off with the face, but I can't quite pinpoint it. Maybe the legs and body are slightly different too? Anyway, for a starting base, it's not bad.
So I adopted two sets of AC Puppy Dalis:
Bred this set, and got:
Specky! Not bad! So I bred this guy to another 2nd gen Puppy Dali, and got this:
---
I also tested it with Mutts:
^Two AC Puppy Mutts...and their offspring, Scrappy:
---
I bred Specky and Scrappy...
and got this:
Woofers! That is his adult size!! He looks perfect, right? I was so excited!! But...then I remembered something. People (including me) will want to breed their old mixies with this OW file to get some neat looking puppies. So, I downloaded some highgen, purebred Mutts and Dalis that are the regular size. I bred them both to each other (so two normal Dogz) and to the ones from these files. The results...
---
...Don't get me wrong. The GIANT puppy thing is cute. But this is definitely not what my end goal is. Where I stand at the moment, the puppy OWs will only be good for starting over from scratch and keeping those puppy lines entirely seperate. It could be fun for challenges, but for fun random breeding sprees, not so much.
But because it -does- work one way, just not the other...is there even a way to fix this? Or will it mess with something else?
Is this why the Chihuahua heads go big on bigger mixies? (If this can be fixed at all, I wonder if the Chihuahua can also be fixed so the head doesn't get too big...)
Are my efforts even worth it? Would anybody want this, if I finished it? xD Thoughts? Help? Anything?? xDD (...Did any of this make sense? xD)
