I may be slow in replying to this, as I can usually only read/fully understand hexing stuff when I'm in the right frame of mind...but I wanted to get this question out here ahead of time. I am -slowly- fighting to get back into hexing. I almost never want to anymore, but I absolutely want to finish my Scooby file, and I thought mutating paintballs were the only other thing I had left to do...then I thought about variations.
Firstly, I know next to NOTHING about adding variations. How do you do it?
And I want to ask...is it insanely difficult to add a bunch? I thought about doing one of each (texturable) color, with each (texturable) color of spots...maybe a no-grow as well as the regular size in each...and if it's not -too- painful, might even be neat to add possibilities of chest patches and/or snout patches. And uh...a whole bunch of eye colors. :X
I'm lousy at math, but even I could see that if I have to sit down and like...hex each variation by hand, one by one...it is not going to happen. Surely there's an easier way to do this in LNZPro, right? And uh...if so...what might that be? x'DD
I've just done so much with this hex and I want the release of this breedfile to be worth it, so I've been thinking about a bunch of things to make it something people might want, and more variations would be way more fun. IF it's not something that will be a very slow and painful experience. xD

I am just venturing into this myself, but in Pet Workshop. There is an instructional flash video on how to add variations, but it seems to only scratch the surface of what the program is actually capable of. Because there is the functionality to "link" (whatever that means) and add multiple layers of variations, I think there would be quicker ways of doing multiple combos of variations that would happen naturally in the AC vs having to fully hex each one. But, as I said, I'm still working through it myself. Beyond that, the subject was briefly discussed here, if that would be helpful! petzforum.proboards.com/thread/67817/create-variations-breed

Thank you! The thing you linked me to...was worded a little oddly and I struggled to understand what was being explained. But it looks like it'll be a bit of a nightmare after all. xD Still, I'll have to give it a try, a little at a time, and see if I understand how to go about it before I fully decide one way or the other if I can do this.

I'm also trying to figure variations out and it's pretty complicated. I did a quick google search and I found this thread that explains the variations process in greater detail. Reading it definitely got me feeling overwhelmed. @_@ petzforum.proboards.com/thread/56005/silly-newbie-hexinGood luck, I hope it helps.. Maybe we can all figure it out someday. xD

Thank you! I feel like Shinji's avatar in the thread you linked about sums up how all of this info makes me feel. x'DDD I'm ready for someone to make some epic new hexing software that makes things easier than ever before!! xD
