(I hope it’s okay to post this here lol)
Hello! I was looking for something to distract myself from school starting, so I wanted to start a Bottleneck Challenge. I wanted to document it as well, in case anyone might be interested in it!
What’s the Bottleneck Challenge?
The Bottleneck Challenge is a challenge that, to my knowledge, was started in the game Flight Rising. This video explains the process well: HOW TO: Flight Rising Bottleneck Challenge
If you’d rather not watch that, put simply, you would get 32 random dragons, breed each pair, and breed those pairs, so on so forth until you get one baby.
In this case, I’m using Dogz!
Wait, why "Aster Line"?
I plan on doing this multiple times, so I figured naming them after flowers would just be....neat and aesthetic haha
So, let me begin. I've been letting random dog breeds walk out of the Adoption Center, and using them. (P5 breeds don't like to cooperate with me so I'll just be using P4 breeds)
Here are the simple rules I used:
1. Each pair must be two different kinds of Dogs, but two pairs are able to be the same two breeds
So Dali x Dali isn't allowed, but two Dali x Dane pairs are allowed
2. Only the first baby born will be used for breeding, sex changing is allowed
3. Try to not get attached to all of the puppies no matter how cute they are 😔
"Come on, get to it already, I don't want to read all of that!"
Patience, patience, I need to show a couple things
Here's the tree I made for myself to track my progress, as keeping track of each pet is highly recommended (It's easy to make in Google Sheets)
Anyways!! Let me finally get to it! So far I've gathered 3 Gen 1 pairs:
Yes, there are two poodles, but like I said! Duplicates are allowed, plus, Alfred and Coal still look pretty different!
Here are the first bred babies:
Coal x Angus
First sweet baby is Carl! I love black and orange dogz so much, so this definitely made me happy seeing him.
Buddy x Bluebell
A bit of a dramatic name, yes, but Flawless is a very pretty girl. She's a nice mix of her parents, and, while it isn't my fav colour on Petz, I love the blue.
Alfred x Candi
I'm sure his name is self-explanatory, because he somehow managed to look like a cat! With the Chi ears hidden in the poodle poof + the whiskers, I somehow bred a black cat.
I also already started breeding for the 3rd generation! Only once, though.
Carl x Flawless
Scruffy managed to be another orange cutie! I love how you can really see a nice mix of his ancestry.
That's all for now! I hope to update you all semi-frequently if interest in the project stays, as it's helping distract me from schoolwork.
