I'm in a conundrum. The last time I was active I used photobucket, and I deleted my account when they went paid only. I looked at the threads about free image hosting, and they're all mostly a couple of years old now. I wanted to see what the latest info was. :-)
What do y'all like to use for petz image hosting? Pros, Cons, etc?

I've been using Imgbb for about a year and I really like it :)
I think I read somewhere that it wasn't recommended because of some ? security? issue? but I don't know what that's about and haven't had any issue myself. Sometimes the site has gone down for a few hours and all my images will be broken during that time, but that's only happened twice that I noticed and not very recently.
What I like about it is that it doesn't change my image file names, and it's easy to sort or search my uploaded images and get different formats for posting.
(also I know a lot of people use imgur, but I know imgur as a place to go and browse stuff - I'd feel super weird if someone I worked with found my hundreds of random petz pictures)

Used to use PhotoBucket but after they went down I switched to Imgur and have been happily using it since! It's fast loading and quick and easy to navigate unlike others I've tried.

I actually use neocities.org - it's for websites and completely free, if you know how to code! So I use neocities to host my petz site, and I have a large folder for images that I then subcategorize for use on my petz site and around the PC ^^ (ex., all my showing photos are in the 'show' folder and some are subcategorized for each pet). That way, all my images are in one place and I can trust they'll be there until I delete the website or neocities dies.
Just keep in mind, if you reorganize your images folder, though, the URLs you had will break because the file locations will be different. THAT can be tedious lol. But honestly, this is the best method for me!

I have my own hosting from doteasy.com ; I wanted a petz website and didn't feel like trying to mooch and wanted my own friggin' url haha. So I bought it. I have 10GB of space and I am considering offering storage for petz community members if I can figure out how to offer it XD Photobucket can take a flying leap off a short dock

Heads up for anyone wanting to sign up for Imgur. You have to have a cellphone to sign up. I don't have one so it's out for me.

Easy. There's this old fashioned thing called a land line. (I won't give out a cellphone for important things anyway.) Also my parents have a pair, Mom makes me carry one when going somewhere in case I need to call them on the other one. (I'm their full time caregiver.) Not that they could come get me If I got stranded, but then again the only errands I do without them with me these days are within a long walk from the house.

I didn't think people really still used those, to be honest, except in business settings xD Even if they can't come get you, you could call for tow service or something if a vehicle has issues. That's why I got one originally and now I use it largely for youtube to listen to/watch documentaries and lectures, and a whole lot of harassing leashykitty via Telegram xD
