I was just curious to see how many of ya'll use PetzA profiles, and how many do you have? Also what are your different profiles like? How do you separate out your petz? I love the fact I can separate out my petz into different categories. I myself have 10 profiles and counting. XD I have one for my Catz, different ones for all my different Dogz breeds, and then ones for my Wildz and livestock. ^^

I voted "Other", as the actual answer is zero. I don't use profiles, partially because of the risk of corruption, but mostly because I like to just boot up the game with whatever specific petz I want to do something with at the time. It feels a lot more flexible to just swap .pet files in and out of the Adopted Petz folder as needed.

I quit using Petza profiles when I was forced to move from Windows XP, to Windows 10. I kept reading about people having problems with it and decided to avoid the whole thing. I pinned my Adoption folder to the Quick Access list, and the folder where I store backups one above the other. I manually move the petz back and forth. A bit messy at times, but it works well.

Interesting, makes sense though in a way. I guess I've never played without PetzA mainly because Alex plays with it. So that's how he set me up. XD

I clicked other xD
While I do indeed use them, I don't leave them in the profiles folder. They get moved to 'storage' and I use them to swap petz back and forth in and out of the game kind of in bulk. I have a folder for my old kuvasz, new kuvasz, newfies, manx, akitas... the list goes on. It's obnoxious and I find it's easy to just kind of hybrid between full profiles and one adopted petz folder.

I chose "Other" mainly because the way my profiles are set up now needs to be reworked xD Currently I have 8 profiles - one for my "main" crew that I play with fairly regularly, and that needs to be broken up into subfolders because my crew is growing, heh. The others are all for breeding projects in varying stages of completion (because I get distracted easily... xD). With what I've been hearing about the risk of corruption, I'll probably stop using them and instead have a non-profile storage folder (neatly organized with many sub-folders, of course). Then I can just switch out petz as needed. I'd probably do that eventually regardless of corruption risk, as it's getting to be a hassle to un-neglect all the petz in each profile, even with Reflet's nifty neglect-me-not program. With storage folder the majority of my petz would be out-of-game and not gathering neglect if I didn't play with them on a certain day.

Why is everyone talking about corruption... am I missing something? >.<

I picked 5, although that's an approximate amount, since I have a different number of profiles in 3, 4, and 5 all for various purposes. Regarding profiles corrupting Petz files, I've been using PetzA profiles for years now and have never once had any files corrupt. I'm not saying it can't happen, but it's never happened to me, and even if it did, it wouldn't bother me that much since I keep backups of all of my Petz on a thumb drive. The convenience of having numerous "adopted Petz" folders that I can switch between easily faaaaaaar outweighs the relatively low fear of corruption, in my book.

I put more than ten but that's over P4 and P5.
I used to have one main crew folder and one "overflow" folder when my crew size became a bit too much for one profile and then separate folders for my own hexies, breeding sessions and some of my original petz from when I first started playing are in their own folder. More recently I decided I wanted to make a one page listing for my catz and dogz respectively so it was easier to put everything that I'm not playing with that day into folders for catz, dogz and hexies just so I could get pictures of them all and I've just kept it that way since, pulling out what I want to play with into my main crew folder before I play. I have my petz backed up elsewhere so I don't worry too much about possible corruption.

I use roughly 21 profiles for 75 petz. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I treat my profile folders like "rooms" to help me remember what my plans are for my petz.
For example, I have a profile called "Growing Families" for petz that I want to breed sometime in the future -- just not anytime soon. This is in contrast to the "Maternity Ward" profile, which is for petz actively producing children. I also have a "Kids' Room" for independent pups on their way to adulthood so I can more easily remember who's grown and who's still growing. Then there are family group profiles, and matchmaking spaces, and other things. And not all profiles have petz in them at any given time.
I only started doing this in 2020 when I returned to the game after a years'-long hiatus and couldn't remember who was a puppy, or pregnant, or betrothed to whom, etcetera. It bothered me that I couldn't recall the details off hand, because I really like to "know" my petz. I had written notes that I eventually found, but the profile system keeps everything fresh in my head.
