I was digging around old sites hoping to get my hands on an old breed file. When I stumbled upon Muttz 4 Sale 3, and saw a link to a page called Fighting Dogz. I had to click it to see what it was, because I was sure it wasn't what it sounded like. But no, it's about fighting petz dogz? And I remember seeing cliques back in the day about "this site is against dogz fighting" right along with "no puppy milling" and "don't abuse petz" cliques. Back then I thought it was just something we posted on our sites, I didn't realize Petz dogz fighting was ever any kind of thing? And now I'm so curious it's not even funny, how big was this? Was it just the one site? But it had cliques against it, so did the PC have like underground dogz fighting rings? I was hoping there would be some older members that may remember this? I'm in no way promoting this or dog fighting in any form, real or otherwise, I'm just really curious about the bit of petz community history that I hadn't seen before.

Woah, I have no idea if people actually did this, but it looks like maybe they did? petz can be encouraged to do most behaviours, so it wouldn't surprise me if you could train a dog to be more aggressive. Quite a horrible thing to subject your virtual petz to, but now it has me curious. Was there a secretive illicit PF Magic dog fighting ring in the deep parts of the internet? lurking in the hush-hush realm of the petz community? people battling their sweet emotionally believable virtual petz like bloody pokemon?! possibly xD All jokes aside, I'm completely against dog fighting though.

Dog fighting real dogs is for sure horrible, but our pixel dogs aren't living creatures. I really wonder about this.

Same! Like was there like a secret code you posted on forums to get in? A secret society or something? Like I've seen a lot of "remember when" posts so many times but never seen this come up? even as a "remember when someone tried this and we all rejected it?" Or anything? Like was it so small no one remembers it or was it so secret? Or what? I'm really curious about it as a historical mark in the PC but 110% against dog fighting.

Yeah people did it back in the day. You can teach your petz to be mean and attack others, and spray them with the water when they're nice to others until they learn to be aggressive. I remember it and my 14 year old self was abhorred by the very idea!
I also remember the no abuse cliques, and people would "rescue abused petz" that had too much squirt bottle/no food/etc and rehab them in the days before PetzA and RunawayRescue xD
I will go shake my cane now kthxbai

I bet it's a pain in the butt, trying to reteach tricks can be a pain sooo...the I remember rescues a little bit, they were dying out when I hit the community, but my favorite were ones that would teach the petz tings to make them more adoptable.

I'm almost tempted to test Aggression in dogs. I wonder if you really can teach them to be aggressive. I have the perfect boy for the job too. He's Great Dane (Pit) and Mutt. He looks the part at least. lol

He's so cute! I'd like to see his derps too since pits have such glorious faces <3
This sounds like a petz experiment to me. ITS FOR SCIENCE!
I actually have read a few things on people dissecting the personalities and as far as I know, no one to this day has cracked the code on personalities owo You'd think by now someone would have but no xD

So much so there's even a utility for telling all the different aspects of your petz personality.

I had no idea this was a thing. I also didn't realize we had such training power over Petz, or could do so for such specific behaviors. Until this moment, I just thought "training" was "getting Petz to do a trick when I shake a treat."
I'll have to look around the forum to see if there's more information on the mechanics of training. For example, if we can train Petz out of being mean to each other, that would be news to me! I guess I always felt so bad about using the spray bottle (and had Petz unshakably committed to dragging their butts no matter what I did) that I never discovered how malleable Petz could be?

Even the squirt bottle is deleted from my game, since all it has -ever- done is make me feel guilty. I don't care if my Petz like or dislike another pet...they don't have to be out together, and aside from fighting with each other, there's nothing bad enough a pet has ever done to deserve being squirt, in my opinion, so I just tossed it. xD That said, it's interesting that behaviors like that can be trained. And I've never heard of Dogz fighting being a thing either. The thought of it bothers me too much to give it more thought than that though. My Petz will never be fighters. xDD

I have a few who are wannabes, jumping each other and bullying a few here and there. They drive me nuts and they're the ones who get busted with the squirt bottle now and then. I can tell the difference between play an like I'm gonna kick your @$$ so I only bust 'em when they're bad lol.
I had no idea people were that close! I have discord but literally never use it. I can't follow group chats xD

I also didn't realize we had such training power over Petz, or could do so for such specific behaviors. Until this moment, I just thought "training" was "getting Petz to do a trick when I shake a treat." I'll have to look around the forum to see if there's more information on the mechanics of training. I guess I always felt so bad about using the spray bottle (and had Petz unshakably committed to dragging their butts no matter what I did) that I never discovered how malleable Petz could be? I'm always surprised what training can do! I rarely use the squirt bottle just because I have to pick it up to use it vs just petting to encourage behavior. I use training mostly for posing, of course I now have petz that will only pose when the camera clicks so trying to get a different type of picture is a pain. I never really thought about it but since you can train petz to like eachother more theoretically you could train them to dislike others. It's just a pain in the butt(drowning by love potion is my preferred method). The hexing discord has had some amazing breakthroughs that's for sure and the things that have been discovered for personalities is great.
