Wow, I feel lame because that's EXACTLY what my sites were back in the day! Wow, I remember having to go to all the websites and enter all my petz via email because forums weren't really a thing yet. Ya!!! My site was mostly like this too, but I just updated completely willy-nilly with no schedule whatsoever (like everyone else mostly!) but I think it would have increased traffic if people could have been like, oh it’s Friday, let’s see who won the show, etc. Entering shows via email and waiting weeeeeeeks for the results!!! Seriously SGCh took for-ev-er back then!!!!!

I remember thinking SGCH was like... the best... thing... ever xD My dog Martin (RIP) was at like 100 points back then! Ah, how times change...
Sadly, my site is still kinda like that. I have just crew sites now since I am a PKCer and too lazy to offer litters often xD

Oh, this is so fun! I wonder what I do that would qualify... - I make a point of writing a little personality description in the profile of each of my Petz, and I'll add to it if things come up that I want to remember. I think I started doing this when I adopted a Dogz who came with a description from her original hexer; I just thought that was so neat, to be able to read a previous owner's words.
- I have an extensive standardized folder system for organizing my PetzPix. Each couple has a joint pix folder, and nested within those are folders for their children's pix in birth order. Once a child finds a mate, the mate's pictures get moved in with their partner's, and that couple's children get pix folders nested within as they're born. It goes on and on like this.
- I wasn't involved with the Petz community back in the day. I definitely frequented some kennelz and adopted Dogz in the early 2000s, but I did not know anyone personally and still understand next to nothing about showing, which was (and still is) one of the main community focuses. I am continually delighted and amazed by the depth of knowledge on this forum and am enjoying learning about the facets I regrettably missed. You people are WIZARDS.
- All of my home-grown Petz get paired up with an adoption as their life partner. I do this to introduce interesting and unknown genetic factors into the offspring. The blind-box surprise of the children's looks is absolutely my favorite aspect of the game, followed closely by matchmaking Petz with their "soulmates."
- I used to put my own .wav files into the Songz folder so I could get a feel for my Dogz' taste in music. Sadly, my Petz never wanted to listen to anything for more than about six seconds.
- I spend 99% of my time in the Playpen area because I want all that floorspace, and I have certain background patterns associated with particular times in my life.

stancymckatt : Well I cleaned my out fairly recently I have a tendency to backup my petz fairly often to a flash drive or similar (I might use my server space to host a .zip of them, come to think of it) and I like backups after losing petz in computer crashes over the last 20 years xD Ouch that stinks. I've only lost 10 or 12. As soon as I got a CD RW dive that's one of the first things I backed up. I guess I ought to put a back up on dad's computer too. I do incremental back ups onto a flash drive, but I don't trust them completely. I've heard of them wearing out unexpectedly.

5.) I look at dogz especially on PKC and make whining noises because I wish I could hex half as good as that ;_; I can say I've heard some strange noises lately. XD lol I haven't been playing petz long. Only off and on for a few years. But recently I've been really into it since being stuck at home. I don't have many secretes so to speak but I too hoard petz and petz files XD Ever have a petz that you weren't too found of but didn't have the heart to get rid of? No? That's just me? lol

1.) We all know it's in very poor taste to alter a pet/hexie from someone else short of maybe very minor fixes they allow, but recently I've noticed I take this to such an extreme that I won't even change their name or genders! Even with just a bred pet, I prefer to take them completely "as-is." The exception is if the name is just a string of letters and/or numbers, and even then I typically like they're name to resemble the string at least somewhat, such as LO81 becoming Laogi or something. I know it's nonsense and basically no one has an issue with an adopter changing those things, myself included, but it just personally feels right to not change them!
2.) I hate hexing ears : P Everything else is honestly pretty fun, but moving the ear ballz/addballz around FOREVER to get them just right is, ugh! and the part I tend to procrastinate on the most. I'll still do it and it's worth it in the end, but man, it's tedious!
3.) I, also, am very petz-greedy and want to snag and hoard everything I see (But is it really a secret when so many would admit to it? : D)

On PKC we do "hex your own" and I'll get a bred pet that's not A reg and I'm free to brex it to my hearts content. It's basically lazy man's litters lmao xD We do our own hexing and registration, as opposed to the breeder doing it as they do with more traditional litters. I like it myself, since I can hex exactly what I want xD I don't know the last time I adopted a pet that had a name when I got it, that wasn't a keyboard smash! 2.) I actually didn't mind that when I was hexing. It was getting the toes/fingers aligned just the way I wanted them that drove me up a wall! Though when I'm hex painting, I absolutely loathe chest masking. It kills me every time because the ballz aren't always visible in PW when I place the spot coding, and then when they pose the ballz MOVE so I can't really guess how the masking is gonna look. I throw fits and ragequit all the time over it xD 3.) I think we all admit to it, even if we're not proud of it!

1. I'm an absolute hoarder. I hoard way too many Catz, I have thousands of Catz. I love all of my Catz.
2. I love to brex any less than pretty catz I breed, and ones with missing limbs and whatnot since I enjoy wildz and fantasy breedz breeding experiments. I love to pretty up and fix babies!
3. I have a hexing problem. Or rather, I did, but my computer sucks too much these days for me to do my hexing marathons. Or really any decent amount of hexing in general.
4. I lost a few PUGS petz to computer crashes on my unstable pile of rubbish computer (if it crashes when a file is in use, that file goes totally bye-bye,) and to one computer going completely kaput (as in you can't even turn the thing on at all, it's completely dead.) It still haunts me, but there's nothing I can do besides be extra sure to back up everything whenever possible.
5. I have a gem and doubloon hoarding problem, or rather I did since I'm barely on my computer these days, due to it generally sucking. I'll take every gem and doubloon I find, and stash it in a playscene reserved just for that. Then I'll keep going back to South Seas Island until another pops up, and so on. I did this as a child as well. I'm probably a dragon, aha.

I'm getting dragon vibes from you, Night's Shadow ♠ ! Let's see... I know I have a problem with PKC petz. I love to show in the conformation ring and I keep hexing more!

I used to hoard all the treasure too! I had a collection of freaking weird stuff like fish bones and feathers just out there displayed like haha look what I have! Glad to know i'm not the only dragon in the PC * * * * * When I get into a breed I either get one to try it, or I go all the way and get one of everything.

I do know it's really showing-based, so I can get how the toes would be such a big deal! And the "hex your own" thing even sounds like it could be an interesting game in other communities or something - sign up to receive unwanted petz that you can then makeover how you like or something! Thought of a couple more quirks: 1.) I actually mostly play in Petz 5 because I'm more used to it, but there are things I like better about 4, and recently I've started doing all my hexies there because I know there's a bigger audience. However, I think there is one thing 5 objectively does better and you won't convince me otherwise: the ability to infinitely load confetti balls into the cannon. Come on, it's fun! 2.) This one is really silly, but every time I get a notification on this forum or something I panic and think I did something wrong and it's a mod giving me a warning lol. And then it's always just someone liking a post or something. I'm starting to relate hard to Oshies and their constant anxiety, hah.

Aw man! I’m the opposite, when I see a notification I automatically think, oh right on, an EBW show was judged!!! But sometimes it’s other things lol!

I feel you here. I'm constantly thinking I did something wrong when I get a notification. Especially on PKC. XD

I thought of something else for myself. I've been noticing, just from what I've seen/read in various places around the PC that a lot of people like the Playpen scene because of all the floor space (correct me if I'm wrong xD). But I pretty much NEVER use it. I mean, never. I never used it the last period of time I was actively playing petz, and I've only used it once since I've been back. I think it's a little boring, honestly, just being wallpaper and floor space. It was fun seeing my petz climb on the walls... but it got old after like 5 minutes lol. I spend most of my time in-game in the toy closet... I like having everything I could ever want right at my fingertips xD
