I'm sure by now all, or most of you, are aware of sexpotlida's new Pit Bull breed file! Well, like many other users, I've been wanting a nice Pit Bull file for a while now. Any that I've seen weren't too play friendly, weren't quite the right shape, or had little to no variations...nothing that really did it for me. Pit Bulls have a lot of unique traits and I thought it would be a really neat breed to make a playable, breedable file out of. If one didn't show up soon, I was considering trying it, but I -knew- I couldn't get the shape the way I wanted it. They have such a specific look to them...it's so hard to get it just right!!
Anyway, when she released her breedfile, I was SO EXCITED!! It -looks- like a Pit Bull!! It's realistic, yet Petzy! It plays and breeds well! It has variations!! What's not to love? Oh man I was so thrilled...
Sooo I decided to go nuts. Adopt a bunch, and breed a bunch. And here's what I ended up with:
---
These are my Adoption Center Pit Bulls! Brother was the very first I ever pulled out, with Beauregard being the second ever. And, they are BEST FRIENDS! It's so cute!! And obviously I was being very drawn to the black and white ones...oh they're so pretty!! The cool thing about the variation in this file...I adopted all of these guys, and so far my sister adopted two...and they don't even look like mine! It really makes them so much more personal! <3
---
When I was breeding them...I did two things. I snagged some purebred Great Danes from Commander's site, and I bred them for some high-gen, purebred Pit Bulls. (Oops, forgot to mention, I'm using the OW instead of the breedfile, as I do already have a file called PitBull in use.) So there's some of those. I also decided to pair up my 1st gen Pit Bulls, breed them as far down the line as I could without inbreeding, and breed the end result pup to one of the purebred Great Dane/Pit Bull pups from the previous breeding mentioned.
Just two different ways of getting variations, and some extra genetics in there! So the following you're about to see is a mix of all of those together. Some of these are 2nd gen, some go up to 9-ish gens, I think. If I did it right, they SHOULD be all non-inbred too.
I planned to adopt out most of these, as there were a lot of similar results...but the ones I kept had differences between each other that were JUST different enough to be unique, and I liked them, and couldn't pick between them. So I kept WAY more than I adopted out...but that's always how I operate. :X What can I say, I love my new babies...and I've waited a long time for this!! xDD
So, here's the varied results, sorted by colors and ears. xDD
Having three black AC Pit Bulls...black was my most common result. But, it was my favorite, so I'm perfectly happy with that! xD I LOVE how Rhos turned out, with the more black face! <33 I had a mini goal in mind while I did this breeding spree too, and I wanted to get a 'natural' eared/tailed Pit Bull that was black and white, with the pink nose/muzzle spots. Blotan was the success I didn't expect!! Ukulele, Mandolin, Didgeridoo, and I THINK Zadar are some of my highest gen results.I absolutely LOVE Zadar!! He looks like he got a spotted nose!! I have so many favorites in this one graphic. xDD
---
I think my favorite leg marking, between all four white socks, or only the front two white socks...is only the front two. I like 'almost perfect yet a little less' markings like that. (I also like Petz lacking chest patches for the same reason xD) I also prefer my Pit Bulls with tails...mainly up-tails, but the docked tail isn't much fun, so I'll go either way. xD I also prefer floppy ears, but I love the cropped look too. Those things being said...when Mujan was born, he was perfect to me! My only other silver Pit Bull had full socks and a cropped tail, and I hoped for one...well, like Mujan! And I got him! I'm also super thrilled with Honage's icy blue eyes!!
Kazoo is another high gen one...any with odd instrument names are. xDD Durthin is a complete goofball and I love it! Raynebows and Lollypops' names go with their sister's name, Sunshyne, who you'll see later. (Basically poking fun at the Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows song, but with a cringey Y theme to it, since I have all those names already. xDD Smyles, who you'll also see later, and Syngsong, who was put up for adoption, also go with that theme/litter.) Maybe I'm just a dork but that endeared them to me somehow. (Speaking of which, Syngsong is close to being reclaimed. xDD)
I noticed I don't yet have any flop-eared orange Pit Bulls yet!
---
There's Sunshyne and Smyles. xD I loooove Burien and Clarissa's soft eye colors!! Dustmuffin makes me happy. xD Macese is my only flop-eared, caramel colored Pit Bull with a tail, so I'm loving that one as well! Beautiful Chello is another of those high gen ones, and I am LOVING his gold coat and the pink muzzle spots!! Peroy also lucked out with the icy eyes (making me think he must be brother or close relative to Honage) and Pibble...plain, simple, broken marking'd Pibble...she might be my favorite overall. xDD
When I first saw her, she was one of the first I saw with funky leg markings that didn't quite do as they should...and she had a dull grey eye color. My first thoughts were, "She'd probably be an unwanted reject if anybody else had bred her...maybe even instantly deleted..." Which...just made her precious to me. xD And on top of that, so far she has such a lovable, sweet personality just...ahh. I love her. <3 I think she was my first bred golden Pit Bull too! <3
---
And lastly...here's my TWO white Pit Bulls, and all my spotted ones! <3 Myra was my first to get a spotted coat, but with a different color. (White was where it started, so the blue color was nice...ESPECIALLY with those teal eyes!! <3) I didn't notice until I was editing images, but Kodak was my ONLY gold-spotted Pit Bull! Coulda swore I had at least one more...must have been thinking of the cream-spotted ones, since I had one more of THOSE than I expected. xDDD
I'm thrilled with Karakiss, because she is the ONLY spotted Pit Bull I got who actually inherited the black ear that Brother has by default. For everyone else, they lost that marking. (I like it, it adds variation that they can do that!) I do think I prefer the black ear marking, and I was worried it didn't pass at ALL. But it does, it's just more challenging, I guess! Which can be pretty fun! So it makes Karakiss even more special!
And Kehocy is too cute with the white muzzle and black spots, and the floppy ears...and just ahh! <3
---
I'm sure this is only the start of a Pit Bull obsession. I'm already thinking of more I want to breed.
Like...I don't have an orange, flop-eared Pit Bull yet. Can I get a red one with black spots? Can I get more spotted ones with black ears? Maybe I should breed them with the original breeds, like Dalmatians or...even Chihuahuas/Dachshunds to get some little Pit Bulls, or shortie Pit Bulls!!
I'd also LOVE to try and breed an all white Pit Bull, much like Hoshy, but with a pink nose and pink muzzle spots!! <33 That's my biggest priority, because that would be amazing!
On top of that, I did ask permission, and my sister was given the go-ahead to brex two first gen Pit Bulls to look like our new pit bull puppy in real life, and the one we almost got from the shelter, who we already miss quite a bit. (He wasn't a good fit for our other dog, Peppy) So whenever she gets on that...that will be pretty cool to see! xD
But yeah...thanks so much, sexpotlida, for hexing this, and even more so for being willing to share it!! I was dealing with a lot of stuff the other day and felt pretty low, and this gave me a -lot- to focus on, and by the end of the day, I was feeling back to normal. Petz really is amazing therapy, no matter how you play. xDD
If anybody else wants to show some of their favorite Pit Bulls, whether bred, brexed or 1st gens, I'd love to see!! I know I'm not the only one going Pit Bull crazy right now!! xD
