I looked at Planet Zoo and I'd have to buy a higher end laptop to play it. I'll stick with the old school ZT and all the fun fanmade content. As to the whole Petz code thing, I know a few people have tried and had some success with decoding the SCPs and such, but I'm pretty sure most of the code is going to remain a mystery. I think just making it run reliably on newer PCs will be a big help and I know PetzA works with that more or less.

I would love to see the community expand and grow. The Discord is great and I just recently found the one from the Reddit community, but didn't know Tumblr had one since I don't really use Tumblr.
I honestly don't like the Discord chats. I use it daily for mobile games and for book blogging community, but find once the group gets big enough it's just a bunch of people yelling into the aether. That said, Petz community should evolve into modern gaming venues like Discord, Twitch, etc to bring in new players so I see the use in it.
The game needs more attention from big online gaming influencers in order to get a younger crowd, possibly? That said, Petz will always be a niche game because of it's "classic" game quality and "lame" graphics in comparison to many current games which have less in the way of complexity but look pretty.
All that said, I support attempting to grow the community.

I think one of the benefits of Petz is the unlimited creativity and variation you can get, even with just the original breeds. When you throw hexing into the mix, there's no limit to what people can do. Come on, we have HORSES that run like horses (more or less!) and sharks and bears and lizards!
I think if influencers played it, they'd either love it or hate it. No in between. I wonder if someone Twitch streamed just /classic/ petz without hexed things or anything like that, if it might attract some attention. I bet if we did a screen cap and posted videos about Petz on Youtube and Instagram with the right hashtags (for like COVID right now, the #StayHome or whatever it is) ones, we might drum up some business so to speak.
