I would want the most...is for petz fans, and the original programmers, and the original designers, to work on the theoretical Petz 6. Or maybe fans that became programmers. Or at a group of Fans that decided to buy the rights for Petz 1-5 and future games away from UbIsoft.... Ubisoft makes great stuff, but it would take a _lot_ to convince them that Petz would be worth investing the money into the old set up.
The things currently in hexadecimal would still be coded in hexadecimal (it's an obscure coding environment and probably one of the nails in the coffin.)
It would be backwards comparable with petz, breeds, and resources from previous games. Maybe an inbuilt converter? I'm sure custom breedz would have to be tweaked but that's nothing new. It would work in such a way that the petz could be moved back and forth as you wanted.
Playpen would remain. The flat look that I (we?) love would remain. All the customising would remain... Someone could make all of our tools compatable. (might as well dream big!)

I REALLY wish Petz 6 could be a thing. I would love to see the community grow and become more active. I wouldn't want the way the petz look to change. I'm not a fan of the computer-generated realistic look that the petz games after Petz 5 got. As for new things, I'm repeating what others have said but the ability to actually wash the petz, maybe pick up litter or other messes, have them play in water, react to the weather, have seasons, and interact with each other in new ways would be awesome! I love the litters in Petz 5 so I would want to keep that.

Agree 100%. I would want the look to remain the same, if a little polished up.
I highly doubt Ubisoft will do anything in the vein of the old PFMgic version of petz again. They've made it pretty clear that they are uninterested in doing anything innovative/serious with the IP. Which kills me because petz 1-5 are such ingenious games under the hood! It really does feel like nothing else is like it.

You know what... isn't this something that isn't so unheard of these days? You hear more so these days of fans stepping up and really taking charge of certain properties, the only hurdle is, I guess, the fact it's Ubisoft and not a more open minded developer like, maybe Sega, or smaller indie developers... My question would be... hand on heart, do you think we could do it? Do we actually, honestly have a community that would be dedicated to try this? I know it's a pipe dream, but the first actual hurdle would be knowing if this was something that the community wanted, and truly thought we could do.

I voted for improved breedz over new breedz; I feel that the breedz introduced in Petz 5 were so disappointing I'd much rather have them fix and improve those before they brought any more into the mix. New behaviours, definitely! Love what we have already, so to see more would be absolutely wild. New genetic traits. Wouldn't want to to get *too* complicated (I'm already confused enough about breeding and genetics and stuff, lol) but can you imagine the breeding sprees we'd all be on with the introduction of new markings?! OMG! Improvements to the world - I love the little interactive things like the fire in the family room, the windows, taps in the kitchen etc. Small things, but such fun! More interactivity WITH the world itself, plz! The day/night cycles in P5 were cool, shame it was just essentially cosmetic. Would be nice to see them actually have an effect (i.e. some petz are more chilled, sleepy at night, active in the day etc.) and I would LOVE to see some weather effects for outdoors scenes! Updated graphics - this comes with the caveat that really, I only want them to fix resolution scaling on modern systems. I think a lot of petz' charm is that its 256 colour and I'd be sad to loose that (also hexing would become much more complex, argh!) Random events - will mention weather again, perhaps some spontaneous events that you had to respond to? A lost dog has been spotted on the beach! A cat is stuck up the tree! Then maybe when you help them, they become part of your crew I'm sure I'll think or more to respond with but right now I gotta go eat! Will edit more in another time!

Improved litters! So we can have more than one baby at a time like petz 5 but no glitches

I had lots of ideas for random things, some came from random dreams or daydreaming lol
One thing that I expected as a kid was to be able to walk the petz from scene to scene or have scrolling playscenes, I also expected a world map but i'm not sure that would improve the game or not lol but right now the menu system is a bit clunky. I feel like a more integrated world would be cool.
Another was more customisable garden flower patches, building ponds like I know there are a lot of items out there that you can get but this would be more intergrated. Other playscene ideas I had would be a pet cafe, an agility area (we have the monkey game but a more open playground would be cool), a park with activities and such. Maybe even a pet city with lots of things even a restaurant and that.
Maybe instead of toyz randomly appearing an item trade system of sort? Just an idea. A scavenger hunt would be cool.
Also generally having more customisability tools in game would be cool. Changing the landshape, building things and that.
Also a zoo or something with wilds would be cool but idk I dun want it to be a cruel zoo lol also it could be a seperate game. But generally more wild species integration would be cool. You always hear birds and that in the garden but don't really see them apart from the bird feeder toy n that. Like a lake with fish would be cool too I know there is already a thing for that made but Id like to see it intergrated into a playscene.
In terms of events maybe things based on holidays could happen.

I think updated graphics would be a given, though I hope they'd still keep the trademark look.
The game could feel more alive by working with your location and calendar, so you'd get seasons and night/day cycles, maybe even seasonal events, a bit like Animal Crossing.
I'd love to see more collectibles... you know, like the shells you can pick up at the beach? I love collecting that kind of random stuff and it would be great to have more things, maybe even have displays and things you could make with them.
A really big plus would be more tools to customise or mod your game. A lot of games now have these things to make it easier for players to make and share content, so it would be nice to have a more streamlined and official way to make new breeds or clothes.
As far as what I wouldn't like to see, I wouldn't like to see a money system. Something I like about Petz is that (with the exception of Petz 5) you can unlock everything right off the bat. If you love playing frisbee with your dogs, for example, you don't need to go through hoops just to get a frisbee. That makes the game a lot more relaxing and it's easier to play the way you want to.
I definitely wouldn't want to see real money on petz, I hate microtransactions, especially when they're for things you should be able to do anyway. If the devs needed the income source to keep improving the game, I'd say official extras or DLC that actually added a lot to the game would be ok by me.
