Hey so I'm not sure if anyone would know what to do about this, or even just why it happened, but teki10 and I are partners and live together, but have separate computers. For some reason we have the same IP address, and we aren't sure why (we found out when they tried to sign up for PUGS, but since I have an account on this IP, they can't) I guess I'm just wondering if there's any way to fix this? We aren't sure why we have the same IP, but the only thing we can think of is that it's because my computer used to be theirs (as in, it was their computer before I lived here, and they got a new computer later) Though I'm not sure that would make a difference.

It's because both your systems are on the same network. That also happens when one accesses the Internet via a tablet/phone, as it feeds off from the wireless connection of your router. Nothing you can do, except maybe to go under a VPN or something, so that both of you are more "different" to each other I guess.

I was under the impression that they'd be slightly different, like that it would be similar because of the shared network, but then were changed a little to differentiate between each machine.

No, they wouldn't be. That's also the same for everyone that accesses computers at the library. While each individual are different and so are their browsing routines, they all share the one IP address. Even when you use one computer and then a different one upstairs.
