Completed my first ever hex, I know he is not that much of a big deal, I didn't get too creative as I plan to show him in PKC. Now I want to create him a couple more Poodle buddies, and some for the PC as I noticed Poodles aren't a very popular breed in the show ring in PKC. I want to create some brindles, tan points, and ticking but I noticed when using a texture file I can't get rid of the pink background (for example.) Do I have to edit the texture file to match the base color for the individual dog in photoshop? When I select the first option the black brindle stripes will disappear and only texture the dog. Would like to know how people get the roan ticking like the dog on the right.

You just have to set the texture transparency to 75 for pink, or 135 for green- depending on the base texture. Setting transparency to 75 allows the pink to disappear and show the underlying ball colo in those spots

So adding textures in PW has never worked super well for me when it comes to transparency- I use LNZ pro. All you would do is change the red number on the end of the LNZ text like to 75, or whatever transparency you want:)

Could never get them to show up right but now I know haha

I love the poodle, the white and blue is a nice combo. Nice job with the paintballz on the tail and head poofs.
I recommend using LNZ pro when working with textures, I think it's actually easier, and it eliminates some of the problems PWS seems to cause.
With texture arguments, if it isn't 0 (totally opaque, shows as is) or 1 (totally transparent), any other number 10-149 can be used to make different colors in the bitmap transparent. These numbers correspond to the numbers on the color chart. You can use this to get all kinds of different effects with textures, it's fun to experiment with. For instance, using 65 with the cali5 texture makes the orange parts transparent, so you get a red stripey look. Changing the argument to 80 makes the red transparent and lets the oranges show, giving you a very different look. This is very useful when making your own textures too. In the PKC, with some of the textures, you'll see a few texture creators used colors like pink and green, probably to simplify things when making the textures and make it obvious what argument people should use with them. Usually the argument to use is listed with these PKC accepted textures though. But it's certainly worth knowing how texture arguments work when hexing, so just remember that those numbers match the color chart if they aren't 1 or 0.
