Usually when I enter dogz and get them placed, I try to understand why they placed the way they did so in the future I can avoid certain mistakes and whatnot, but sometimes when I think a pose is pretty good, they don't place at all and I can't seem to figure out why. This isn't me complaining about how my dogz deserve better or anything like that! I just genuinely am curious as to why this happens.
Ghirardelli, for example, tends to place kind of averagely, and he's currently the dog I've had active longest without having reached SGCh yet (though he's close!). I've posed him many, many times but all the poses look pretty similar and it doesn't seem to change the way he's placed in shows. Am I missing something? Is it just his body in particular? Or does it really just come down to the other dogz he's placed with in each show or the judges' subjectivity on a good pose?
When I pose, I'm most focused on the back legs being aligned and the heart nose. I've tried getting a pose with the back leg being one pixel off to the left since I know sometimes that's better depending on the dog, but I haven't been able to. I've also compared these poses to some of my other dogz who have consistently placed well in shows and the only thing I've noticed is that Ghirardelli stands about 3-4 pixels taller (in that same frame) for some reason - is that a factor? One that I can control somehow?
These are also some other dogz I have next in line to potentially be shown, so any advice on them would be greatly appreciated as well!

These are some poses I got today or have used in the past:
To me, they're all pretty darn identical, but maybe I'm not seeing something a trained judge would see?
