I wasn't going to add any new show catz for a while, but here I am... introducing three.
Zany
|
Blimp
| Snowpatch |
First we have this odd little Chinchilla mixie with almost inexistent fold ears. His parents gave me a total of 3 kittens with completely black eyes like him! (in 2 separate litters). I don't think I've ever had any petz with black eyes like this before, and I've bred probably over a thousand. Have you? He was bred with my Mini Manifold and Swiss Mau overwriting breedz in, but that wouldn't explain those eyes. Anyway, this little one's name is Zany, and his show name is RKC's Doesn't Give a Hoot, because... doesn't he kinda look like a zany barn owl? Then we have Blimp, who was actually born in 2006, and who begged me to accept him as a show cat despite his fatness being at 100 right now. He promised he would excercise by playing with the numerous kittenz back at RKC's Cattery, but I told him it wasn't necessary, as I love him the way he is, voluptuous shapes included. Regardless, he said he was going to be unrecognizable by the time he wins his SGCh title. We'll see. His show name is RKC's New Year's Resolution! And last, this is Blimp's daughter, Snowpatch. When I bred Blimp, I was actually trying to obtain a Honey Bear-faced mixie with those big Egyptian Mau ears that I love, and with a crooked Alley tail. Snowpatch delivered all 3 requested features, so she earned a spot in the show ring, next to her dad. Her show name is RKC's Winter's Almost Over. Also, riding the Grand Show Revival wave like a skilled surfer, Scarlet won her SGCh title after a lightning-fast career of only 19 days in the show ring! She's now retiring to the SGCh Lounge.

Horay for Scarlet! I love how you used the picture of her cheering from that funny pics show a few weeks back A little update of my own for you, Hottie's baby Warhead is already halfway to SGCh herself!

I had to come say that every day I check the recent posts, your catz and/or their show names make me laugh. I think New Year's Resolution and Living Life As a Potato have to be the ones that made me laugh the most. Haha They're very creative.

Especially Living Life As A Potato's call name being Yam Yam. I laugh every time.

midnightwolf , gumdrop Haha, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad my show names gave you guys a few chuckles I was passing by to announce that Blimp is now a grandfather! His daughter Snowpatch and little Zany -- looks like he must have given some hoot after all -- went together for show practice and came back with kittens. Oops!
These three little ones are currently training with the hope of joining the show team! We'll see.
We also earned 3 SGCh titles in the past few days! One of my leftover catz from the past, Mesa, finally earned her title after a 5 years hiatus, and my two show dogz, Schmancy and Gravitar, both earned their SGCh titles one day apart from each other. Not sure if I want to embark in showing dogz again... Maybe I'll just bark. Oh, and I've added all the show ribbons my petz have earned! It's now easier to see how they've done at a glance. I like it.

Well-well, how quickly they grew up, and trained, and posed, and everything but died!! Here are Snowpatch and Zany's offspring, entering the show ring in their parents' footsteps:
Colorama, the only girl, delightfully colorful and proudly sporting her mother's big Egyptian Mau ears and daddy's poofy tail. She looks a little worried, but she'll get the hang of it. Her show name is RKC's Every Color But the Rainbow. Bonbon may be small, but this little guy is not to be stepped on, because he'll meow really loud if you do. Plus his show name is RKC's Choke On Me, so you watch out (for him). Goggles, the big boy of the litter, inherited his cheeky Scottish Fold face from his paternal grandfather, and his fathers' amazing pitch-black eyes. Is this a common thing or do I have a gem here? I say I have a gem (or two). His show name is RKC's Nope, Not Looking At You.

Step right up, cutiepie! Don't be scared! It's okay to be different! I will tell them who you are... I was browsing my old kitty folders from years ago when I found litters of what I used to call my "ratticatz". They were mixes between regular catz and Fancy Ratz (I can't remember who made that breed), which had the potential of creating monstrosities, even some with missing body parts. This one was a nice and functional surprise, with all necessary cat parts, but also visible rat parts: notably the tail, body shape, colors and markings, and eyes. I had shown a few of them at the time, but not this one because he had inherited of the Orange Shorthair personality (which the Fancy Ratz are based on), so he was particularly hard to pose and I ended up having to use the Love Potion to do so. His call name is Tangle and he was born in August 2003, 14 years ago. I gave him the very fitting show name of RKC's Jumbled Success.
Tangle (Still scared, but doing it anyway!)

Okay, having a bunch of the Fancy Rats myself (yet not thinking to mix them with Catz...WHY NOT??) THIS IS SO AWESOME. It's a perfect mix of cat and rat, and so PRETTY. I love it!!

Foreign kitties travelled from faraway lands to join my show crew today! And yes, they do meow with an accent! Soviet is a Russian Blue mixie who may have lost her tail in battle, but her happy Maine Coon disposition brought her to the show ring full of confidence and wide-eyed wonder. She's passed all her tests and is ready for action! Her show name is RKC's Lost My Tail to the Revolution.
Anka is a Siamese mixie straight from the exotic streets of Thailand's capital. Her Siamese personality almost made me refuse her entry to the show ring, as I'm not one to enjoy spending lengthy amounts of time love-potion-posing my catz... However, the beautiful Siamese pose she graced me with on her first try weakened my resolution. As expected, she was an incredible pain to pose with the potion -- took forever, and I almost shipped her right back to where she came from! The end result was worth it though. Her show name is RKC's Back Alleys of Bangkok. And last, there is little Karom, another Siamese mixie, this one apparently from the Egyptian side of town. This little devil followed Anka all the way, leaving a life of luxury in a wondrous palace to come to, you guessed it, my showroom! Just for that, he deserves both a spanking and some respect! His show name is RKC's Little Red Posing Prince.

Macademia kinda looks like a squirrel on steroids to me, so her show name will be RKC's A Little Nutty. She's a Russian Blue/Oshie mixie with a Maine Coon personality. I think she came straight from the tree across the street. Grayzie is a Tabby/Spotted Wildcat mixie who was blessed with the Wildcat/Desert Lynx ears -- by far my favorite along with the Mau's, because they are so big and cute and tufty. Unfortunately, they are also a very enticing motel for ear mites (I may have accidentally bleached the inside of her ears trying to clear the mites out -- oops). Grayzie swears her striking eye color is all natural, but I say she's wearing contacts. What do you think? Her show name is RKC's Grays Have More Fun. Bambino and Céleste are brothers and sisters. They are Oriental Longhair mixies, which often produces catz with double-tail birth defects (one a fixed Oriental Longhair tail, and the other a standard animated Petz tail). These two apparently didn't read the memo and went for no tail at all! Whatever... Bambino looked like a fawn with the top of his head cut off when I first saw him! Maybe that's the reason for his name, like Bambi... Bambino? Kind of felt sorry for him, but not really, because he's cute at the same time, amirite? Let's give him a non-commital show name... how about RKC's Oh Dear! Could be good, could be less good... but he's one dear little deer either way! Céleste's beautiful texture and ears come straight from the Oriental Longhair breed. The rest of her features are all from her daddy's side of the family, my earless/tailless show cat Casualty. Because her coat color and texture reminds me of the night sky, I think I'll give her the show name RKC's Dark Nebula.

I haven't added any new show catz for a while because, let's be honest, I have way too many already. BUT, after several months... the itch had to be scratched, so I'm introducing 3 new kitties to join the show ring!
Slopes was born a girl, but I had such a strong feeling he was actually a boy that I decided to change his gender, which is something I rarely do. I love his large size and sloped Oshie back, big Egyptian Mau ears tipped with those adorable Lynx tufts -- all favorite features of mine -- and, as if it wasn't enough, he was graced with the speckled texture that comes from my Spotted Wildcat OW breed! He just HAD to become a show cat, and was more than willing! He will be known as RKC's Mountain Top in the show ring. Nuttie was born in 2004 (just found her again in an old backup archive) out of two SGCh parents who produced several of my crowned show catz. She's actually sister with my still running show cat named Zany, who himself sired 3 of my current show catz! Talk about a showy family! It's in their blood! This plump little one loves eating peanuts, but they unfortunately hate her, which explains her puffiness and show name: RKC's Allergic to Peanuts. She may have a rougher time in the show ring than the rest of her family, but I couldn't pass her up. Fuego is an Oriental Longhair mixie with a Maine Coon personality. His texture and unusual tail -- which is fixed and doesn't move -- actually come from that breed. He is related to 2 of my currently running show catz, Céleste and Bambino. His show name is RKC's Firecracker Starter, which I hope won't the scare the crap out of all my other show catz! It's just a show name, guys! .......... Sssssssss-CRACKITYBOOM! Also, since my last Showroom update, 3 of my show kitties have earned their SGCh titles!
