So I tried to look through the How To Pose a Dog threads but none of the pictures work anymore. After a quick look at my pictures, Hershey seems to be executing the most "perfect" Dali pose (minor foot placement aside). Can someone provide a not broken picture reference? I wouldn't mind giving shows a try. Attachments:

Yeah, I think we do need to have an updated posing guide with example pics, especially for those who are new to showing. The LI forum used to have a really good dog posing guide that also covered variations in all the different hexed breeds out there. Unfortunately, LI is no more, so the guide has been lost. Now, for your dog's pose, it does need some improvement. Starting with the legs, he/she is turned just a little bit too much toward the camera. If you look at the front legs, see how the opposite front leg is showing in front of the leg closest to the camera? You don't want that much of the opposite front leg showing. You want just a tad of that opposite front leg to show, and a tiny bit of the opposite heel to peek out from behind the nearest foot. You got the dog at a good breathing point, the chest is nicely filled. Your dog has a bobtail, but in dogs with longer tails, it should be curled over the back as much as possible. The head looks fairly square, and the ears are equal, which is also good. Once the legs are aligned and the head square, another thing you want to look at in dali pose is the nose. You want to try to get both nose balls and shines to be level with each other. In dalmatians/dali based hexed breeds, a "heart shaped" nose is what you get when the dog's head and nose are perfectly square and level. A "triangle" nose is also good, but will usually place lower than a heart nose if all other things are equal. Leg and head alignment are the first things a judge looks at, followed by smaller details like the nose and tail. When competition gets tough, placing comes down to the little things. Here are some example dali poses: These two above have "heart" noses. This one has a "triangle" nose. Not absolutely perfect, but still a good pose. Some different coat types. Dogs with fuzzier legs tend to hide more of the pixels from the opposite legs and feet, while smoother coats show the legs and feet clearer. I hope that helps.

Just wondering, is it possible to use the wayback machine to retrieve the guide from the LI forum? Also we may be able to update the guide with broken pics here with credit to who contributed the pics. Posing guides with working images are pretty important xD
Sorry I don't have posing help. Just wanted to chime in about the guides.

^ All of the images belong to Neco, who is no longer in the PC. If she was, I would've possibly been able to keep the guides and images since they were put together by her if she gave her permission.
We are trying to put together a fresh posing guide on Riverbend Show Ring, if people would like to contribute images/advice/etc..
