yes i have another sims 3 problem [zzz]
i don't know why but every time i try to make a family with 1 sim and 6 cats even though for every cat i make sure that under the relationship link thing that there only housemates when i then put them in a house and i look under the all button in the friend thingamajig there always litter mates! and not just 2 or 3 cats all of them are related to each other why? why can't i just have 6 cats that aren't related to each other? how do i fix it?

The only fixes I can think of would to turn on testingcheats after finishing the family, and right click a cat and try to edit it in create a sim again?
A longer way to do it would be to make a second family with a cat. Then on the family you want to use, turn on cheats and add the other cat to your household.
Hopefully the first thing works though since it's quicker.
Nevermind I don't think you can edit relationships. So the second one is all I got sorry :X I'm guessing you want to breed them? Edit: I guess if you want to get creative you could design your six cats and save them in create a sim but don't add them to your family. Then make your person, move them in, and adopt 6 cats from the phone. Then edit them in cas and use the saved cat designs.
There's probably an easier fix though, so these are more like last-resort suggestions. Hopefully someone has something better!

I use NRaas' MasterController, a mod that does a ton of stuff in-game. Dunno if you use mods, but one of the things MasterController does is let you tweak relationships and family members. Without that, I'm not really sure what to suggest.
If you create them all in the same household, that's probably what's 'linking' them together like that. Have you tried making a family of a Sim and one cat, putting them where you want them, then making single households of each of the other cats and moving them in together? That's a mod-less idea, but I dunno if that'll work or not.

Littermates doesn't actually mean related, like brothers or sisters. It just means they're from the same family. They can still form relationships between themselves and mate with eachother. I haven't played sims 3 in ages but i do remember this one, and if i'm not mistaken, something else will show up if they're bothers or parents or something like that. But littermates just means basically... housemates. xD
