But 4 always has that white screen... I've seen people complain about this before, and I've experienced this 'white screen' and it really isn't that bad. Then again, do you guys know about this? The white screen happens if you put away a pet, and then click on its' name (where 'Pick a Pet' will be in a minute) before the pet is entirely back in the carrying case, and happen to scroll past that pet in the list, right? Then the entire screen goes white, and there appears to be no way out? If so, have you tried hitting Alt on your keyboard? When I had that happen, I used to do Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open the Task Manager to close the game, because I thought it crashed. But before I could hit the Delete key, it always automatically disappeared. I discovered you simply hit Alt and it goes away in a flash. Or, we could all be patient a moment longer and let the pet go back into the carrying case completely and avoid the issue altogether! xDD Either way works! I want cookies now. I need less delicious metaphors. That made me laugh, and I agree. Thanks a lot! xDD

.... and petz 5 has less pixely graphics and a handy profile (which is what causes the incompatibility but never mind) .... Would you mind elaborating on this for me? Maybe not here, but in a PM? I've been thinking this is only a part of the incompatibility issues with pet files between the two games, but I'd like to know more of what you know about it. c: It's been a really long ongoing project of mine... to bring P5 petz back to P4, without making them a 1st gen. clone. Also, that white screen in P4? "Alt" doesn't work for me, but "Esc." does.

I usually press escape when that happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it...really doesn't work. I just taught myself to be patient and wait until the pet actually goes away. Although, one time I put a pet away, didn't even try to bring out another pet, and it gave me a white screen that wouldn't go away and scared me half to death thinking I'd broke the game. I still don't know exactly what happened.

When mentioning Petz 4 the white screen is always mentioned along with it. It's really that bad?

It's barely ever mentioned because it lasts a whole 1-3 seconds. I never remember it happens because I just press Esc and it goes away. It doesn't interrupt gameplay for more than a second or so. I remember when it first happened too, since no one talked about it, I thought it was jsut my game too, Heather. xD

Yeah well, it seems to come up once in a while even though it is an easy fix.

The white screen is a thing that happens to other people? lol, I've learned how to avoid it easily. Plus, escape or the windows button fixes it. I used to panic when it happened lol. Definitely not a big deal compared to P5 crashing when I try to breed breedfiles. I use both games nearly equally, depending on my mood. I use P4 for breeding and P5 for hexed petz like my horses from Seeing Stars.

The first time it happened I had a moment of *blink blink* "oookaaay.." and figured out rather quickly what happened. I think part of what appeals to me with p5, is I didn't spend a lot of time with 3/4 before jumping to 5 when it was released. I had 2, then a handful of weeks with 3 or 4 (I don't remember which now) and then it was announced that 5 was coming out. And honestly, what is still the biggest appeal to me is litters. I never was a fan of making copies of the same female for litters in the old ones, or rebreeding them multiple times for just one litter.

But I seriously don't mind the white screen. I always just hit escape. It's just that that's the only petz glitch I've ever noticed but other people are always like: 'Petz 5 is so glitchy, it freezes, blablabla' and I just found it funny that the only glitch I've ever seen was in the game people say is fine, haha. .... and petz 5 has less pixely graphics and a handy profile (which is what causes the incompatibility but never mind) .... Would you mind elaborating on this for me? Maybe not here, but in a PM? Oh cool! That would be great. Well, I read on a website (I think maybe a hexer's?) that the petz 5 petz are the same but the profile adds a bit of extra data to the file which confuses the petz 4 game and makes it think the file is corrupted. But I don't know, since I am just repeating information I read elsewhere I can't elaborate on it or be absolutely sure that it's true.

I knew the white screen appeared when I tried to take another pet out but now that I know exactly what causes it and how to fix it I'm so excited...my white screen lasts longer then a few seconds and sometimes I have to control alt delete and it's so annoying haha

I didn't know Esc worked too! That's good to know, since Alt doesn't seem to help everyone. xD I'll keep that in mind if Alt ever fails me! And Heather, mine also doesn't last a few seconds. Mine gets stuck that way. xDD
