Petz 4 seems to get SO much more attention then Petz 5. That wouldn't be a problem, expect that there is a HUGE lack of Petz 5 toys and clothes. Why can't there be a Petz 5 version for toys and clothes if the creator can do that?! This is SO gamist. (Term for game racism) I know, Petz 4 pets are not stuck in one version, in fact, they can be in TWO other Petz games. So can Petz 3 pets, though THAT doesn't seem to matter to the community. Sorry for my sorta rant.

I literally just found an awesome site that explains why more people choose P4 over P5... I recommend reading through this site: The Petz Guide. (Made by the wonderful Dew <3)If you click on "The Basics", then choose "Gameplay", she explains the "big debate" between Petz 4 and Petz 5 players... Also, the same wonderful person made a ton of really cool toys that are available for both games here. I hope that helps. c:

With the glitches and to some, the way it looks, other than breeding, Petz 5 is a downgrade to most people.
Since most people don't use Petz 5, for me when I hex clothes, I don't want to waste time making it work for Petz 5. I don't even have it installed. I don't want to install a game I don't play to make clothes work in it when a lot of people won't even use it.
Keep in mind hexing takes hours. Most of my clothes files take at least 4 hours and they're pretty basic.
People don't have to share their files. I'd be thankful people spend all the time making them rather than criticize them for not spending more time to get them to work how you want.
Learn how to make your own if you think there should be more.

What others have said--Petz 4 is less buggy and better for a lot of showing, breeding, hexing stuff, as outlined in the fantastic link 🌠 Aubrey posted. And as Mr. Wolf up there says, no one HAS to post anything. There's plenty of stuff for p5, and if there's more for p4, that's the hexers' prerogative. You aren't paying for their hexed items. They aren't paid to make it. They're doing it because they want to. If someone is giving out free raisin cookies but you don't like raisins, they don't OWE you chocolate chip cookies. You know? If you like P5, enjoy P5 for what it does have, and download the stuff for your game--much of which is not compatible with P4. Or get p4. Also I gotta say . . . "This is SO gamist. (Term for game racism)" Are we reeeally gonna compare "sometimes people volunteer their time to make stuff for a different version of a game" with hateful prejudice that has historically caused pain, war, suffering, enslavement, and death in droves and still does? Because, um, well...

As someone who prefers P5 to P4, there are plenty of P5 things out there to download. Just go look around and don't expect it to fall in your lap.
I like breeding in P5 and I hex in P4.

I know, Petz 4 pets are not stuck in one version, in fact, they can be in TWO other Petz games. So can Petz 3 pets, though THAT doesn't seem to matter to the community. I guess I don't get this part. P5 is also my favorite, but I've decided to breed now in P3, because they work in all games. So I don't have to worry about my petz not working in any games. So there's realy no need to worry about petz And the creator can choose what to do with hexed petz. Since P4 is the preferred version, some people may not even have P5 at all and that's why people choose to hex for it. To be honest, I think if P5 were what was widely considered the best version, there wouldn't be debate since it's the newest. I know the thread isn't really about that but I kind of wonder... If it's toys and clothes you are looking for, people have linked some sites with downloads. You can also request them, or offer trades and maybe someone will take them up. Or, something I have done in Babyz, say there is an in-game shirt you like but you don't like the design, the BMP shouldn't be too hard to change (well at least in Babyz). Edit: Here's some items: www.angelfire.com/moon2/petzzoo2/id24.htmOn the page she says it's okay to re color and edit them (but not the petz, just whats on the page this is hopefully linking straight to...).

"gamist"? I'm sorry but lol what
I use P4 for basically everything just because it's easier & more reliable. I do enjoy using P5 on occasion for the weather/day&night/mini-games/etc.
also, you do realize you can download P4 for free (and legally) right? you just have to download a free trial of the game & install PetzA over it. so if only having P5 is a huge issue for you then just get both, should solve all your problems~

Lots of people who make clothes/toys/etc for petz 4 may allow someone to convert them to petz 5. I know Nova's site has P5 version things made by someone else because she doesn't have P5. So maybe you could learn how to make toys and everything so you can convert things with permission. Always ask, of course.

Petz 4 has always been the most unreliable to me, which I find pretty funny xD but as Fall said, if you get permission, some hexers may let you convert items And since I prefer breeding, I'm okay with limited items. But if you are having trouble unlocking them as well in P5, there is a program to unlock them for you (so you don't have to do the minigames).

Most sites I go to have toys and clothes for both versions...I love P5 but quit playing it as much because everyone else prefers p4 and it would take forever for my petz to get adopted cuz they were P5 so that's why I switched, plus anyone can adopt them that way.

I don't know really, I don't get the debate. I like them both, the minor differences that are there don't bother me. Petz 4 has the best compatibility and the playpen and petz 5 has less pixely graphics and a handy profile (which is what causes the incompatibility but never mind), the petz 4 menus annoy me a bit. I like the salon, I like the clothes closet. I've never really noticed a huge difference in downloads. Most breedz are unibreed and clothez/toyz seem to be equal for both versions. But then again, I've never been one to fill my game with hexed stuff. All the creators are really generous for putting their stuff up for download and they usually allow conversions if you ask nicely. Then again if it really bothers you, nobody is stopping you from getting both! Best choice I've ever made, I get all the advantages! RebeccaMonkey, same! My petz 5 game never has problems! But 4 always has that white screen... gumdrop, well said! -likes your post- raisin cookies... Perfect example because they look suspiciously like chocolate chip and you end up disappointed. Just like downloads for the other game versions, haha. I like your entire post but that had to be said. ^^

There are creators who only or mainly create for Petz 5 it's just where you look. If you look up the member Sigikid on here and on PUGS she primarily makes toys for Petz 5 although more recently she started converting some to P4 due to demand. Breeds if made for an older version of the game can be easily converted to a unibreed in LNZ Pro if needed. It's nothing to do with gaming "elitism", it's mainly down to convenience. The vast majority of my bred petz are from P4 because if I do decide to breed a litter I want as many people as possible to be able to pick something that they like. Not as many people make toys as they do breeding or hexing which is why you don't see a lot of new stuff but there are plenty of P5 downloads out there if you look. You've had some really nice suggestions already but here's another one with some nice clothing accessories: webpages.charter.net/meeronver/blackmist/ Scroll down for the download links.

Thanks for adding depth to my post that I didn't plan. I just know a lot of people get really upset over raisin cookies so I figured it was a good example. lol I want cookies now. I need less delicious metaphors.
