so I just recently downloaded photoshop CC, and I just cannot figure out how to get outlines to look right on my graphics?? on the left is what they used to look like in my other version of PS, the right is with the new one. every time I try to do an outline it turns out all thick and ugly like on the right, and it's no longer clean & crisp looking like on the left. I'm really confused about what I'm doing wrong here? I usually make my borders by selecting with the wand tool, expanding by 1 or 2 px, adding to selection, and then filling in the outline. I've tried using different brushes like the pencil tool, & still to no avail. if someone could tell me how to fix this/what I'm doing wrong that would be great!

You can also outline a graphic (as long as it has transparent bg) by double clicking on the layer, and going to Layer Style, and selecting Outline/Stroke (something like that). It'll make an outline for which you can easily modify the thickness to whatever you'd like. I have no idea if it's still the same in this version of PS, since i'm still using an ancient version, but so far, that's how it's been.

That worked! Thank you soo much.
Turns out I had anti-aliasing on while I was doing it the other way, so that was my main problem; I think I like the Stroke way better though! It's so much faster than my previous method.
