I was just wondering if anyone here knows why every time a log into my computer the power plan I select is never ticked off in the box, and either are any of the others. Also, my computer screen will all of a sudden get brighter and then dim every few minutes. I used to be able to zoom with my laptop mouse but now it takes 2 minutes for it to load. I have a feeling my laptop is going to break but I've only had it for 2 years. Could any of this have to do with the battery?

Loading time could be it overheating. When was the last time you gave it a good blast of canned air?
As for the power plan thing.. no clue. Is your profile and admin profile?

mmm~ Could it possibly be malware? Malware can do strange things to your computer, last time i had a serious one (several years ago), it kept everything wireless-related and USB related disabled. Do you have an antivirus protection active at all times? Make sure to have it schedule a full scan every week or so, since it's pretty important.
Aside from that, I'm not too sure what could cause the power plan issue, but for the loading issue, it could be overheating, so make sure your computer isn't getting too hot (for an actual desktop computer, make sure it's not dusty, which could prevent it from cooling off, for a laptop, just make sure it's on a hard surface, never keep the bottom on a soft surface like a bed or something similar). It could also be battery related. Do you have any issues with its battery or the charger? Make sure it's properly connected. Does it work well when not recharging?
